5.0 out of 5 stars The Best!
I love Hilary Duff! Her music is really good and this collection of singles is great! This was her last CD with Hollywood Records so they threw together a best of/greatest hits CD to end her 5 CD contract. If you own all of her other cds buying this one might feel like a waste. But there are 5 new songs on this CD that you can only get with buying the whole cd. These...

3.0 out of 5 stars C'mon Hollywood Records!, December 5, 2008
This review is from: Best Of Hilary Duff (Audio CD)
This CD brings back a lot of memories. In 2003-05 Hilary Duff was my favorite artist! But this tracklisting is just plain disappointing.

Even though I'm not a big fan of her anymore, I loved Dignity. I was hoping she would release another dance-pop album. Instead, Hollywood Records decided to release her second compilation after only three albums.

They could have used this chance to put out a really good best of, since 'Most Wanted' seemed like just a bunch of random songs by her, or something like a dance mix album of her biggest hits, to go with her new music style. Instead, they listed strictly the most popular singles from each of her albums.

It begins with two new tracks, "Reach Out (and Touch Me)" and "Holiday." The former is the semi-sexual lead single. Then we get all three singles from Dignity ("Stranger", "With Love", "Play With Fire"), only one from Most Wanted ("Wake Up"), only one from Hilary Duff ("Fly") and three from Metamorphosis ("Come Clean (Non-Album Remix)", "So Yesterday", "Why Not") and then remixes of the new tracks.

But missing are the soundtrack songs that made her career, like "Our Lips Are Sealed", "What Dreams Are Made Of", and her singing debut "I Can't Wait" from the Lizzie Soundtrack would have been a wonderful addition! Also missing are the radio singles "Beat of my Heart", "Someone Watching Over Me", and the Radio Disney singles like "The Math" and "Girl Can Rock."

Here should be the tracklisting:

1. Reach Out
2. Holiday
3. Stranger
4. With Love
5. Play With Fire
6. Beat of My Heart
7. Wake Up
8. Someone's Watching Over Me
9. Fly
10. Our Lips Are Sealed
11. Girl Can Rock
12. The Math
13. Come Clean (Original Album Version)
14. So Yesterday
15. What Dreams Are Made Of
16. Why Not
17. I Can't Wait
18. Reach Out (Remix)

MY RATING: 3 - 4 for the songs, 2 for the tracklisting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Double-Disaster..., November 11, 2008
This review is from: Best Of Hilary Duff (Audio CD)
I must start off that I am a huge Hilary Duff fan.

But what is with this CD? Yes, I know Hollywood Records dumped her, but they couldn't do any better than this?

This album should have at least 20 tracks and it has 12.
There's no reason they couldn't have added some of the soundtrack songs (Crash World, Now You Know, or Why Not (Radio Disney Edit).

The only good thing about it are the two new songs "Reach Out" and "Holiday."
So why aren't these songs available for download on Amazon?
That's where the double-disaster comes in; is there no way to own these songs (and pay the artist) without being completly ripped off?

All in all, do not purchase this album unless you have no other Hilary Duff material, and even then, you'd be better off buying Most Wanted.

I reccomend Dignity, Metamorphisis, and Hilary Duff (self-titled) instead.
DO NOT support a bad recording company like "Hollywood Records."

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Of- Hilary Duff Review, January 20, 2009
This review is from: Best Of Hilary Duff (Audio CD)
I have heard that Hilary Duff's last album Dignity is really her last one from Hollywood Records. But Then come time to find out that she was releasing another album. It wasn't a new album but a best of album. With Two new songs Holiday and reach out which are good songs by the way. But like previous reviews before me have complained, where are the other songs that she has sung? They should have least put more of her songs on this album. I feel that Hilary has been pushed aside for new artists such as Miley Cyrus and the jonas brothers.Which isn't fair because I think Hilary has grown, music wise and more mature. Im glad that hilary will be making another album soon, hopefully she will be treated better then what she has been treated like before from her record label. But overall your not missing much, if you have her most wanted album and dignity you'll be set. But if you want the two new songs then go ahead and buy it.

These songs are "Reach Out" "Holiday" "Come Clean (Remix)" "Reach Out (Remix)" "Holiday (Remix)"

Her new songs "Reach Out" and "Holiday" are amazing and I can't wait to hear future music from Hilary! The "Come Clean (Remix)" is really good too and breathes new life and a new sound into an old track! The older songs are still amazing and it's cool to have them all on one CD. Also the pictures in the CD Booklet are so pretty!

Bottom Line : This is a good buy if you want her new songs or don't have all her CD's and just want the singles. I recommend it to any Hilary Duff fan or anyone who likes good pop music! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love Hilary!, November 17, 2008

This review is from: Best Of Hilary Duff (Audio CD)
I didn't used to like Hilary Duff in her "Lizzie McGuire" days. But, close to when the show was in its last season, I started to watch it more frequently.
I used to like "So Yesterday" a little bit, but I loved "Come Clean."
I became a certified "fan" when she released her DIGNITY album. I love all the songs on that album, and still listen to it today...a lot!
She is such a great singer, I love her voice! She is so pretty, and looks way better with dark hair.
This BEST OF HILARY DUFF album is really great! And I love the "Holiday (Remix)," it is the best song on the album!
I hate how Hollywood Records never wants to promote their artists, except for Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers. That's why I hate them! They did the same thing they did to Raven-Symone on her latest self-titled album, now they're doing it to Hilary!
Such a shame!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Greatest Hits Again, July 16, 2009

This CD is just an attempt for the record company to make some more money.
If you are a H. Duff fan then you own all of these songs, so don't make the record company richer. Plus, why isn't Jericho on here, that is one of her best songs!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Hilary has SOME hits..., February 19, 2009
This review is from: Best Of Hilary Duff (Audio CD)

Okay so Hilary at the beginning for me was not the best singer, but as soon as she made her album Dignity, I began to like her... but I'm going to breakdown the review by each song:

1.) Reach Out- 9/10
This is a very sexy song, especially for Hilary Duff. I like how she broke out from her Disney influenced style and became a lot more glamorous. I just have to say that she really should have released this song in a new album, NOT a "best of" album bc it really does not match the rest of her rate G songs. Overall, this is a new, sexy, fun, and stylish song by Hilary! I hope her next album has the same style.

2.) Holiday- 7/10
I think this song is OKAY, nothing to impressive, especially since a lot of her other songs are a lot better. If this was released in an album that was complete with new songs that would make sense, BUT I don't believe this is "best of" material, it's just a mediocre song!

3.) Stranger- 9.5/10
I love this song, this is one of the reasons why I like Hilary's songs now. It has a belly dance theme to it, with a dash of spice. The music video also suits it! I think this deserves a spot in her best songs.

4.) With Love- 9.5/10
I really like this song, the beat, her new style and look, just amazing. I think this was Hilary's start with her new look and music, which I like!

5.) Play With Fire- 9.0/10
At first I was like this song is really lame, but for some reason after awhile you get really hooked to the song! I think it's a fun and bubbly song.

6.) Wake Up- 8.0/10
It's a good song, but I feel like the song could be a lot better, especially since Hilary has good vocals! It's not amazing, but good.

7.) Fly- 6.0/10
I really dislike this song. It's not like it's terrible, but just okay. There's something about it that makes me have goosebumps when I listen to it!

8.) Come Clean (remix)- 8.5/10
OKAY first off the UNREMIXED song deserves a 10/10 because it's simply clean, fresh, and amazing, BUT the remixed version seriously ruins the mood. Nevertheless, most of the song is still amazing... darn you remix!

9.) So Yesterday- 9/10
I think this song is a lucky-to-go song, but stil is a pretty good song to listen to whenever. It's one of her better older songs.

10.) Why Not- 8/10
It's a good song for awhile.... but after awhile it really gets annoying to listen to. It's just a song you listen to once in awhile and enjoy.

11.) Reach Out (remix)- 9.5/10
This remix actually was done very well! it's an awesome remix to dance to at parties, clubs, etc! Who ever remixed it did a good job!

12.) Holiday (remix)- 7/10
It's honestly the same to me as the normal version. A little bit more rhythm, but nothing more special than the other.

-----Overall, it's kind of a mix of good and okay songs from Hilary, I think she really needs to release more albums before actually releasing a "best of" album. Nonetheless, I really love her new music and look!---

2.0 out of 5 stars Can you say 'sell out'?, November 12, 2008

Okay, I used to like Hilary. Back when she was sweet, and clean, and, you know, relatively real. But this new image she's had for the past couple of years just gets on my nerves. I mean, first, what's up with the sexy bare shoulders thing? She already used that on the cover of Dignity. And her new music videos? We don't need to see that, Hil.
Seeing as I've never met her, and therefore don't know her real personality, I won't say I dislike her... although it's hard not to. I'm just VERY disappointed in the choices she's made, public image-wise.
That said, I feel as though this album is rather redundant, taking into account her Most Wanted collection that came out only a couple of years ago. Okay, so she has a few more songs now, but that's no reason to make a whole new Best of collection, even if it does have two new songs on it (Reach Out is disgusting, by the way). There aren't even that many songs on this album. I rather get the impression that time is being filled, that this collection is just to keep Hil in the public eye until a new "real" album comes out. I guess what I want to know is, how far will Hil go to stay popular? And do we even want to know?
Can I just say, again, how disappointed in her I am?

2.0 out of 5 stars Do We Really Need This?, November 11, 2008
This review is from: Best Of Hilary Duff (Audio CD)
OK, let's look at the numbers: Hilary Duff has recorded five albums. Two of those five are "Greatest Hits" compilations. That's one "hits" album per 1.5 original albums. To make matters worse, the "Best of Hilary Duff" actually features fewer songs than her first hits album, "Most Wanted," which was released three years ago and compiled from her first two albums; "Best of..." had three albums to pull source material from, but still manages to provide fewer tracks. Seriously Hollywood Records (aka Disney) - wtf? I understand that Hilary had a five record deal with you, but couldn't you do better than another compilation? The only aspect of this album that deserves any sort of praise are the two new songs (er...four new songs, if you include the remixes of each that are included on the disc), which are decent.
