I can not believe Amazon would price this CD so highly when I found it elsewhere for 8 dollars. It may be overseas but for crying out loud, what type of smuggling ring are you guys doing here?

4.0 out of 5 stars INU-YASHA~The Best Of, May 23, 2005
By
This review is from: Best of Inuyasha (Audio CD)
I confess, I'm not a real big fan of the Anime 'Inu-Yashu' but I know someone who likes it a lot, and every time I'd sit down and watch an episode with this particular person I always found myself enjoying the music being played during the closing credits. Every season it would change and so I begun watching the show just to crank up the volume as the song would start playing. I therefore decided to go ahead and buy 'The Best Of Inu-Yasha' and was pleased to hear many of my favorite cuts assembled together in this fine compilation. Highlights include the magical "Fukai Mori" by Do As Infinity (I especially love the flutes in this piece!), "Dearest" by the impassioned Ayumi Hamasaki, "Every Heart" by the fabulous BoA, the rockin' "I Am" by Hitomi, and another by Do As Infinity - "Shinjitsu no Uta" which is rockin' as well, only with more of a laid-back feel because of the lovely Japanese instrumentation... The music generally ranges from new-age pop melodies to contemporary rock ditties, making this a fairly eclectic listening experience, even if you don't understand a word of Japanese. And with the exception of the extended 'Inu-Yasha' theme song they all feature either male or female vocals.

Albeit very good I'm knocking a star simply because I've heard better Anime soundtracks before that are consistently solid. Here I find myself skipping a few, but that could just be me. You, on the other hand, might consider this a masterpiece so I recommend buying if you can find yourself a decently priced copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest cd ever!!!, December 9, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Best of Inuyasha (Audio CD)
Allright now! this is the third time Ive had to type this reveiw (dont ask,hey you can't!) so excuse the crummy typing. This is an awesome, beautiful cd. The track names on amazon are screwed up, so they are as follows:
1.Change the World-9/10-Catchy, and it you hate it at first first, give it a chance cuz it will grow on you.
2. My Will- 9/10-awesome everything, I think I knocked off a point cuz its a bit repetitive.
3.Fukai Mori-9/10- Luv the song and the flute pieces! Very reflective and pretty.
4.Ai no Uta-8/10- Nice, but I don't listen to it much.
5. I Am-8/10 hyperness at its greatest!Can be a it annoying, so don't listen to it time after time cuz then you'll start to hate it.
6.Dearest-10/10-Wow. Such a beautiful song, with Ayumi Hamasaki-san's beautiful voice and lovely piano solos.
7. Every Heart-10/10 this is the very first inuyasha song I ever heard, and the first j-pop song I ever heard. I first watched inuyasha really late at night and wasn't prepared to hear something so beautiful and sweet,Iwas blown away. My first thought was"why don't we have awesome music like this in America?".This is a lovely song, and is still special to me and always will be.
8. Yura yura- 8/10- Catchy and fum but I dont listen to it much.
9.Owarinai Yume(did i spell that right?)-8/10-kinda hard rock but it grew on me.
10. Shinjitsu no uta-9/10- This is a lovely, reflective song by Do As Infinity(same as Fukai Mori) and I love it!
11.Grip!-100/10-FINALLY the Great stuff! I adore this song-it is my favorite song in the world-the lyrics(I read the translation) are very thought-provoking but give a lot of hope, the way I see it. The melody is strong and happy and wonderful! Every Little Thing is officially off the charts for this song! I first heard the small version when I was watching inuyasha, ansd the adultswim(Adultswim..shivers..) people forgot to cut the opening song the way they always do(darn them!) and I was, as with every heart, blown away. I was nearly dancing around the room!the opening video was awesome to, even though I don't remember much of it, it was very bright and happy. What episode was that where they played that song..someone tell me, I wanna see it again!!
12. no mor words-9/10- beautiful, but boring at the opening.
13. Bonus track!!yay!!the Battle Teme(as i call it, or just the main theme)10/10-Veyr exciting,though short instrumental! WHEE! I can see Inuyasha running, or swordfighting when I hear it, or jumping in the air and whatnot.

All in all, this is an awesome CD, and completely worth the heavy price(40 dollars?!), but don't get a cheap one because it's probably a bootleg. This CD is too good for that! Buy it now!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great music... but..., November 19, 2003
By
Hoshiakari "Starlight" (Hanagumi, US Contingent) - See all my reviews

This album is probably the best Inu Yasha album, but there is a major problem... Amazon has this CD listed twice. This listing under ASIN B0000CNY4T sells for 49.99 but the better listing (with a picture) sells much cheaper for 42.99. You will find this lising under ASIN B00008KKZC.

Unfortunately we ended up buying the CD under both listings in order to figure this out, so I am putting up this review to warn other fans of this oversight. I tried to inform Amazon multiple times to remove this duplicate and more expensive listing, but while they were very helpful about refunding our money (Thank you Amazon) they also sent along a stock response stating there could be different editions, etc... etc... The short answer is NO! That is simply not the case here.

Since we had both items delived to us, I can state with abosolute certainty that this and the other listing (under the name of "Best of Inuyasha [IMPORT]") are EXCACTLY identical. They are both by Avex Mode, made in Japan, issued on 03.3.26, to be displayed until 04.9.25, original price 3059 yen, and the CD id for both are AVCA 14723. There are NO differences whatsoever in the packaging, spine card, or the content.

This CD has a truly great collection (slightly over 60 minutes, 13 tracks) of the best Inu Yasha songs, but go to ASIN B00008KKZC instead to buy it cheaper. Hope this helped.

5.0 out of 5 stars InuYasha! It's all Good!, November 7, 2003
By

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Best of Inuyasha (Audio CD)
Well, unlike most anime soundtracks, all these songs aren't techno-dance music or just plain bad. And all of them are by pretty mainstream singers/bands in Japan. But like everything else with InuYasha, it just kicks butt.

Change The World-This song is by V6. Who figured they would get a Korean boy-band to sing the opening theme? I didn't like it at first, but it's grown on me. It's completely pop...typical boy band sound. But, if you like that stuff, you'll like this song.

My Will-This song is by dream, at the time they were an all girl trio (I think they have 6 members now). Anyway,this is a really cool dance ballad, and the chorus is really catchy, I sing it all the time. This one will definitly get stuck in your head.

Fukai Mori (Deep Forest)- Whee! Do As Infinity...they've got to by my favorite J-pop/rock band out there. Their music is really mellow and it's a nice mix between pop and rock, the best of both worlds. Anyway, this song has really beautiful lyrics and Tomiko Van does a kick butt job belting out the lyrics (the chorus in particular). Another song with a catchy chorus.

I Am-This song is by hitomi, the voice really annoyed me the first time I heard this song, but like Change the World it grew on me. I never had a problem with the song in general but it's a really coll rock sounding song, it was just hitomi's high, baby-doll like voice. Anyway, it's an okay song.

Dearest-This song is by Ayumi Hamasaki, and her voice really fits the song well. I like the lyrics too, and this one has another really catchy chorus. Let's face it, all these songs do. Not too much else to say about this song, it's a nice ballad with good lyrics.

No More Words-This is another song by Ayumi Hamasaki (one of the most popular singers in Japan) was used as the ending theme for the first InuYasha movie. The second I heard this song I liked it, the lyrics aren't anything spectacular (Basically saying if the world was split into winners and losers I'd want to be the loser) but it's a nice ballad in general, and Ayu's voice fits it nicely. Anyway, after I saw the movie this song was stuck in my head for days...especially those darned catchy choruses!

Every Heart (Minna no Kimochi)-w00t BoA! BoA's a really popular Japanese and Korean singer although her Japanese isn't really good (the Korean accent is very noticeable) her songs are still pretty good, but most of them are just generic pop (not that anything's wrong with that ^_^). Anyway, this is one of my favorite BoA songs. I like the melody, the lyrics...nothing not to like. Some people don't like BoA because they say she's not that good of a singer, but personally I think she's a great singer, she wouldn't be so popular if she completely sucked. Anyway, this song is really cool, one of my faves.

Owari nai Yume (Neverending Dream)-I think Nanase Aikawa (spelling?) sings this song, but I'm not a huge fan of hers so I'm not to sure. Anyway, this is a pretty cool rock song, and the lyrics are really good too. Plus the singing's pretty good as well. This one really isn't as catchy as some of the rest but it's still a good song nonetheless.

Shinjitsu no Uta (Song of Truth)-Another Do As Infinity song, YAY! This one is definitly more of a rock ballad and quite a change from Fukai Mori. But this song is definitely awesome. The lyrics are really good, and Tomiko again, sings the song really well. There was the one part where they said something about "becoming naked" but I guess they mean vulnerable...darn metaphors. In all, this song kicks arse!

Ai no Uta (Song of Love)-This one's by the "NEW" Every Little Thing (You'll see what I mean when you listen to Grip!). And I mean new as in their newest album their sound really changed, but I actually like the change better. Anyway, this is the ending for the second InuYasha movie and I really LOVE this song. It's just one of those songs that I really like. Anyway it's a pretty cool ballad and I don't see a reason not to like it.

Yura Yura (Rock)-Well I think the title makes the genre of music this is pretty self explainitory. This one's another ELT song that was used as the Opening for the 2nd movie. I don't really care for it all too much but it is a cool song. Two thumbs up!

Grip!-This is probably the one song on this CD I really don't like all too much. It's the old ELT sound and I really don't like the old ELT sound. But all in all it's an okay song and it's slowly growing on me...I'll eventually end up liking it a lot.

So that's about it, this is a pretty good CD even if you don't like InuYasha because the songs make it all worth while. Only person they're missing is Utada Hikaru...if they ever used one of her songs as an opening or ending I would run over to Japan and hug them. Anyway, this CD rocks so I definitly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars OMG I Love InuYasha and the Music of InuYasha!, August 19, 2004
This review is from: Best of Inuyasha (Audio CD)
Wow...I'm tellin' ya! If you love this anime or if you love JPop, this CD is the right one for you!!! The compilation is just freakin awesome! (Look at all of my exclamation point: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CD!!!!!!!)
1. Change The World: V6 is an awesome group. This song (while I still don't think it really goes with InuYasha...) is sooo beautiful. It's upbeat and will leave you will those (ever so wonderful) feel good emotions! "I want to change the world! Kaze mo kakeru kete!"

2. My Will: Dream never falls short of providing a stellar performance. *Turns it on!!!* This song fits unbelievably well with the series. I just see Kagome falling in love with InuYasha. This song is about wanting to be with the person you love, but are unable because there are sooo many obsticles. Even though you get hurt by the fact that you might not ever be able to be with them again, it drives you a bit further in your efforts and you stop waiting and seize your chance. (Matte-iru watashi wa yamete "CHANSU" wo tsukamu yo!) Even though the thoughts of your loved are enough to make the tears well up in your eyes, you don't stop.

3. Fukai Mori: One of my FAVOURITE JPop groups D*A*I (Do As Infinity). Deep forest...I cannot even begin to describe the beauty of this song. It's immeasurable! The gentle guitar at the beginning leads into the vocals. And I'm sorry, but I disagree with the lyrics being random...they are sooo heartfelt and they lay down the image for the second season. The build to the chorus with of longing just spill out when you hear the four beat entry. Loosely translated, it's "As we live on, we lose a bit more. Shrouded in falsehoods and lies, we stand frozen to the spot unable to cry out." Deep...deep...but I guess you have to listen to the context of the whole song!

4. I Am: Hitomi is a great performer and I can't help but agree with the 90% helium remark...uhh...this song is another beautiful song. Somewhat western in melody, it just talks about being with your friends and finding "the shards of dreams." Yeah, Hitomi-san!

5. Dearest: Ayumi Hamasaki is a techno artist. But she wrote this ballad and...I just love the way it goes. She sings about people forgetting about love and..."Wouldn't it be great if we could just throw out and put away all except that which really mattered? Sometimes reality is just cruel..." I love the fact that this is a slower song. It adds balance to the enajii of the other songs.

6. No More Words: Another by Ayumi-san. I love it. I think you'll like it too!!!

7. Every Heart (Minna No Kimochi): BoA is an awesome artist. I cannot put this song into words it's so beautiful.

8.Owarinai Yume: Overture basically...it's been a long time since I've heard this song...my friend has my CD...this is the only song I didn't put on my computer...I LIKE IT THOUGH!!!

9. Shinjitsu No Uta: DAI's second song on the CD...the traditional elements of this song make it a FABULOUS song to listen to! I think you'll like it as much as me. The opening with the flute is amazing and it kind of goes into what I can only describe as Japanese swing. But the song is very straight forward and...wow...

10. Ai No Uta: Song of Love...beautiful, just beautiful...

11. Yurayura: Very similar to Grip! you'll love it!

12. Grip!: ENERGY!!! ENERGY!!! ENERGY!!! That's all I can say!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Best of Inuyasha (Audio CD)
Hello,
I have this CD, and I absolutely love it.
I just want buyers to take caution when buying this CD second hand.
I bought my first one second hand, and it did not come with the linear notes aka the itty bitty slip on the outside of the CD when you open it. Although the person I bought it from claimed it was factory sealed. Also, the image was not of Inuyasha and Kagome on the face of the CD, but the tree image from the inside of the CD lyric sheet.
This CD I purchased secondhand was a bootleg. It had a three second pause at the start of play, and the CD had permanent skips.
I had to buy it again secondhand. My second purchase had the linear notes on the outside and a different CD image on the face. It was the real thing.
CD is excellent in music. It even has the instrumental from the second movie on it.
If you are a die hard Inuyasha fan, and know all the intros and closings to the series, this CD is a must! You won't be disappointed. ^_^

5.0 out of 5 stars Great songs, March 23, 2004
By
janet (Chester, Va United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Best of Inuyasha (Audio CD)
I purchased this Cd on 03/19/04 and received it in the mail in two days. So great job to the people selling these. Anyways once I got it I popped it in the stereo and the first thing that comes on is Change the World. It isn't my favorite, so I skip to
#2. My Will: I first heard this song on Adult Swim, InuYasha, I love this song.

#3. Deep Forest: This is my favorite because if you seen the end theme song on InuYasha, Sesshomaru is in it. I love him so much. I smile when I listen to this.

#4. It's pretty good, I need to practice the piano to be able to play that song.

#5. It's mostly japanese pop.

#6. I really enjoy listening to this. I like the way she sings the song. I'm practicing too but my throat hurts.

#7. I want to thank Boa for singing this song. She is an korean singer who sings Japanese and Korean. It sounds so good. You want to play it over and over again.

#8-#10. Mostly japanese pop. There good also but I like songs that sings about love.

#11. I like this japanese pop. Even though I have no idea what they are saying, the beat in the background is good.

#12. You know when you watch Inuyasha and he is about to fight an enemy this warrior song, comes up. Well it is played beautifully and reminds you of the long ago Japanese era.

To sum it all up. My favorites that I listen to in the morning, in the car, after school, e.t.c is #2, #3, #6, #7, #11. It is so good, it just leaves a smile on my face and makes me happy all day long. I wish Inuyasha was on long ago.

Get this Cd!!!! I am telling you, you will love it. I'm thinking about learning Japanese, but I'm half Korean so, I maybe should learn both....I don't know???????? ...But if your like me and enjoy talking english, these songs could help you learn some japanese words. Shinjite:)

5.0 out of 5 stars I wasn't too found of this music, May 19, 2003
This review is from: Best of Inuyasha (Audio CD)
Untill I watched it on Adult Swim, and the first songs I herd were, change the world, and My will. I enjoyed them both, so I checked out the soundtrack from my friend. Now I definitly consider buying it.
1. Change The World:Nice beat, but I really don't like who's sining it 7/10
2. My Will:One of my favorite songs. I like the way it starts off with a slow tempo, then explodes with J-Pop out of nowhere 10/10
3. Fukai Mori:This is my favorite song. It's hard to explain, but it's like the tone of the song, and the hook is real good 10/10
4. I Am:A bit of a high tone voice, but the fast pace of the beat definitly make the voice sutible for the song 9/10
5. Dearest:A slow tempo song, and the voice suitrs the song well 9/10
6. No More Words:The calmest song on the whole CD. It's a very peaceful song, and it calms me down alot 10/10
7. Every Heart:Sounds a bit like a upbeat R&B type of song, but it is that that makes it one of my favorite songs 10/10
8. Owarinai Yume:A pretty fast paced song right here. It's a mixture of like J-pop, and J-Rock 9/10
9. Shinjitsu No Uta:Sounds like J-rock now. It's the loudest song on the whole thing 10/10
10. Ai No Uta:Calm start, and yet the hook is pretty uprising 9/10
11. Yurayura:Nice upbeat song that has alot of J=pop in it 10/10
12. Grip!:Well despite they didn't save the best for last, this upbeat, nice hooked J-pop song, is a good closing to this CD 10/10

This is one of my favorite CDs. If you love Inuyasha, or J-pop, and stuff, go pick this up, otherwise, you might wanna stay clear.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'll tell you what's with all the mix up..., June 17, 2005
By
Peophin-chan (In front of my computer) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Best of Inuyasha (Audio CD)
Wondering why some reviewers called "Grip!" quiet?? Here's the answer.

This CD is not the original CD that comes directly from Japan. Either that, or Amazon.com has the track listing messed up, because the song titles are not in the same order that I (and many other people) have. If you compare the CD from Japan with the Amazon.com track listing...

What's "Ai no Uta" on the japanese is "I Am" on Amazon (track 4);
what's "I Am" on the Japanese is "Dearest" on Amazon (5);
"Dearest" on the Japanese is "No more words" on Amazon (6);
"Yura Yura" on the Japanese is "Owari nai Yume" on Amazon (8);
"Owari nai Yume" on the Japanese is "Shinjitsu no Uta" on Amazon (9);
"Shinjitsu no Uta" on the Japanese is "Ai no Uta" on Amazon (10);
"Grip!" on the Japanese is "Yura Yura" on Amazon (11);
and "No more words" on the Japanese is "Grip!" on Amazon (12).

So there you have it; why everyone has been calling "Dearest" hard rock and "Grip!" quiet. So, to all those who said "Grip!" was quiet, what you're calling "Grip!" is really "No more words". I'm sorry, but I just couldn't stand it anymore.
