When I was 3 years old my parents bought me and my siblings a record player. They also bought some 78 RPM records. One of the records was Jimmy Boyd singing "Gods Little Candles" on one side and "The Owl Lullaby" on the other.I recently found out my mom hid the record from me because I would listen to it for hours at a time. So I got thinking about the songs and decided to see if I could find a CDof Jimmy Boyd. Suprisingly I did. I forgot what a Howdy Doody Jimmy Boyd was in 1952. If you remeber Jimy Boyd I am sure you will love this CD. If you never heard of him consider buying this for your kids. I think they'll develope pleasant memories, as I did, from his songs.

Haven't yet actually heard this CD edition, but I'm thrilled to see so much of Little Jimmy Boyd's music made available again! It's going on my Wish List...Having said that, sorry - - but it's just not the 'best of' if it doesn't include 'God Bless Us All' or his completely brilliant proto-rockabilly '(I've Got Those Wake Up 7:30 Wash Your Ears They're Dirty Eat Your Eggs And Oatmeal Rush To School) Blues'. |
