The Joe Perry Project, bottom line. Was just a cool Rock and/or Roll band. At first I was afraid to order this one. Because (...), doesn't list the song tracking. I do have the first two lp's. And keep them safe in plastic. Never got to see 'em live, but! I sure as hell crank'd them up all the time. Never heard Once a rocker, Always a rocker. After hearing the 6 cuts on this cd. I felt rip'd off by the people who kept it out of my reach for so long. And thankfull to those who brought it back,Thank you!! some great r&r here. This would make a great, any time gift. So please get it for someone, if not yourself.

This compilation was released by Raven Records of Australia and provides a good introduction to the music of the Joe Perry Project. There are some glaring omissions from the track listings but basically 75% of the material is here. Raven roped in hard core fans like me by including "Bone to Bone," the hard to find b-side which is an instrumental jam of the same song which was done by Aerosmith on "Night in the Ruts."

Joe Perry Project was good for the music, if nothing else. Collecting songs from his 3 albums its a decent way to get all the Joe Perry you'll ever need without collecting all 3 albums. 1 of which is out-of-print.

Since this has almost all of the Project's best songs on it it's the one you wanna get. Great tracks include Let The Music..., the instrumental Bone To Bone, Once A Rocker, No Substitute, etc. Hell, they're all good. Buy this.

It may be Perry's Best Of, but that's not the point. The album is disappointing and proves conclusively that Perry without Aerosmith is just another Rock and Roll band. (I guess history showed us that Aerosmith without Perry was just another Rock and Roll band too).
This is listenable, it's OK, but it doesn't stand out from the pack - there's nothing that is any different from thousands of other bands. Thank goodness Perry made up with Tyler and went back to Aerosmith ... at least with the Perry/Tyler Aerosmith we have a band that does stand out from the rest.
