Pretty good collection,

Most times when an artist releases a "greatest hits" compilation, people beef over which songs should have or shouldn't have been on there. I've seen reviews where people give a collection one star just because THAT song wasn't on there. But this 17-song collection is a pretty accurate representation of Keith Sweat's career.I noticed that a lot of the songs are from his first album Make It Last Forever. Sure, that was his best album, but maybe he should've included a good number of songs from ALL of the albums. Oh well, there are other hits you remember, like "Nobody", "Twisted", "I'll Give All My Love To You", and even LSG's "My Body". And most hits collections contain a hard-to-find song, and here there's "(There You Go) Tellin' Me No Again" (from the New Jack City soundtrack). I'm not exactly sure why the Snoop Dogg-assisted "Come And Get With Me" is on here, but regardless, this is still a good album to buy if all your Keith Sweat cassettes are worn out or lost. Too many hits missing...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Best of Keith Sweat: Make You Sweat (Audio CD)
I have been looking forward to a Keith Sweat collection for years, and finally it is released, but it's missing too many bona-fide big hits. Where on earth are "Keep It Comin'" (a top twenty pop hit), "How Do You Like It?" with the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes of TLC, "Just A Touch," "Come With Me" (with Ron Isley), "Am I Dreaming" (with XScape), "When I Give My Love" and "I'm Not Ready," (another top twenty hit)????? They could have easily substituted some non-hits included here, such as "How Deep Is Your Love" and the extended version of "Make It Last Forever," for the real hits. And, as a final note, his classic, genre-defining "I Want Her" is included in an edited form. This should have been a two CD set.

I think it was timely that they put this Keith Sweat album out. He can make some very solid songs and is a very good singer. He just got better and better at his craft and he sure can be begging and whining on these songs. I still love "I Want Her", "Something Just Ain't Right", "Merry Go Round", "Make You Sweat", "Nobody", "Right and A Wrong Way", and I was surprised they put his song with LSG, "My Body" on there! They covered his career widely on this album with the song selection. Keith Sweat is one of the best R&B singers and this collection proves it.

...in my opinion, a CD like this somewhat sells itself, but I still must tell you even if you ain't a big Sweat fan, you will be amazed and amused at how many big, big hits are on here that you know and love. Like I Want Her. Like Merry Go Round. And Twisted. Buy it, you'll love it.

Keith Sweet Begged&Pleaded more than anybody else I have ever heard on a Record or radio. His Best Jams to Me were mainly on his Debut Set "Make it Last Forever". the thing is the Cat had a Winning Formula at having the right material at the right time.He was One of the Fore-Runners of the New Jack swing Movement.this set covers His Career really good.

A Must for Keith Sweat fans,

This review is from: Best of Keith Sweat: Make You Sweat (Audio CD)
This album is a must-have for Keith Sweat fans! Unless you've bought his other albums when they were originally released, there's no reason to buy any of his other albums if you have this one. Just about all of his popular tracks are on this album, aside from a few of his obscure hits. "Make It Last Forever" is a favorite for anyone that enjoys slow jams from the old school days, and "I Want Her" should bring back memories of the late '80's high school dances. This album also has "A Right And A Wrong Way" and "How Deep Is Your Love", which were a couple of his really popular slow jams. No Keith Sweat fan should be without this one in his/her collection, and the album contains enough tracks to keep the CD going for more than just a short drive.

HALL OF FAME,

This superb collection will show you why Keith Sweat should be a ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Hall of Fame Songwriter and should be a Grammy-winning record producer, but he's not. Even with over 13 million albums sold (including LSG and Silk's debut). He has worked with a variety of producers from Alton "Wookie" Stewart to Bobby Wooten to Hall of Famer Teddy Riley to Lionel Job (Joe Public) and the one constant is his success, hit after hit, year after year the hits keep on coming. His style never changed. It never needed to. He knows what his fans expect and he knows how to give it to them in spades. This man may be the most underrated soul singer of all time outside of Jackie Wilson. I can say that because Al Green, Teddy Pendergrass, Curtis Mayfield, Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, Ronald Isley, even El Debarge, Brian McKnight, R. Kelly, and Babyface they all get the props they deserve, but when will Keith Sweat be known as the Hall Of Fame Soul Artist that he is? Maybe when he surpasses 15 million CD's sold. Which won't be that long.

If you're born in the 80's, you may not know, but this is the ultimate K.S. collection. With the exception of track 15, all songs included are classic, despite other reviewer's comments. If you have all of the original recordings, you may want to make your own CD. The original versions of these songs will fit if you leave off track 15 (not a classic) & 17 (not worth repeating track 3).

Keith Sweat really does it for me. His voice is yummy and his music is romantic and gorgeous. One of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE songs is Make it Last Forever (you get two versions here) and Twisted. They are both here and my cd is almost scratched in these places. I also love Merry Go Round and Make You Sweat. He has songs for all occasions (slow, fast, romantic, dance) and I keep coming back to this cd. It remains so high on my favourite list and I don't ever get bored with it. Keith is great and I want new cds from him. Please.
