'80's Soul Crooner, February 8, 2002
This review is from: Best Of Lillo Thomas (Audio CD)
During the '80s, dynamic male vocalists such as Luther Vandross, Freddie Jackson, Glenn Jones, and Eugene Wilde, just to name a few, dominated R&B airwaves muchlike another soul crooner Lillo Thomas. The New York native bursted onto the music scene penning Melba Moore's classic "Mind Up Tonight." Thomas later went on to score memorable jams like "Your Love's Got a Hold On Me," "You're a Good Girl," "I'm in Love," and "Sexy Girl." This collection is not bad. However, it fails to include the former of the four as well as the extended mix of "Settle Down" and "Who Do You Think You Are," just to name a few. All in all, it's still a wise move to add it your collection if you're an avid fan.

let's talk"Lillo", August 30, 2001
This review is from: Best Of Lillo Thomas (Audio CD)
If there are any fans of the Kashif/Morrie Brown/Paul Laurence Jones distinctive danceable sound,Then you are aware of their major hits on Melba Moore ("Love'Comin'At'Cha),Evelyn"Champagne"King("Love Come Down")and Freddie Jackson("Rock Me Tonight")that were created. My greatest discovery was that of Lillo Thomas in 1983 with the"Let Me Be Yours" Lp.I am fortunate to still own it on casette and just recently transfered it to C.D.To me,it was probably his best.Unfortunately, the "Best of.." disc has only"You're A Good Girl" as a representation of this fine album,In Fact, the second LP from 1984("All of you"} and "87's better recieved "Lillo" are heavily supplied on this collection with his duet with Melba Moore on the title track("All Of You"} and the third Lp's chart burners"Wanna Make Love","Downtown","Sexy Girl" and his cover of Otis Redding's"I've Been Loving You Too Long".I'm glad that it is available for todays collector of classic soul. But there is still a lot left out that any recent fan of Lillo Thomas would truly enjoy

When I here Lillo Thomas I start to reminess off his music, he make me more aware of the relation ship that i'm currently in. My favorite song is (GOOD GIRL) although I like all the songs that he (Lillo Thomas) writes.
