Best-Lock 240pc Garbage Truck

I really like this set. I picked this up as a "just because" present for my nephew. He loves Legos and just recently got a "Lego Table" for Christmas. The Lego sets are great, but sometimes they just seem very overpriced. I had heard some negative things about the Best-Lock sets, about missing pieces, others that won't fit together or stay locked, etc. I'm very glad to say that I didn't experience any of that here. The pieces fit together snugly and my nephew and I put the Garbage Truck together in about an hour and a half thanks to the easy-to-follow instructions. The little guys look a bit different than standard Lego figures, but they're closer than the Mega Bloks, and it came with a lot of extra little accessories, which I liked. No complaints from me, and more importantly, no complaints from the nephew.

I gave this to my 5 year old grandson who is into building, especially vehicles. He was very pleased and for days on end played with the truck or rather built it. What better recommendation?

My 5 year old son built 95% of this one on his own. I would say that the only down side to this truck set is that some of the pieces were hard to push together. That was where I came in, to squeeze the difficult pieces together. In fact the instructions were fine and I only had to say "make sure you are doing it exactly as they show you in the illustrations" a few times. The quality of the individual pieces are not up to Lego standards. But the price was right and it was a nice project to do with my son on a quiet week-end morning. I would certainly recommend it as the real thing is too expensive to buy on a whim.

My son got this set for his 4th birthday. While he is under the suggested age limit for this toy, he LOVES all his little sized legos and plays with them a lot. Mostly Mom and Dad end up building the creations for him.

All the pieces were in the set, but some of the pieces were really hard to fit together. And a few of them are loose enough that they don't stay on well. Also, one of the pieces that connects the dumping container to the flatbed of the garbage truck was misshaped. It still worked to connect it anyway, so we finished building. However, due to the malformed piece, the dumping container doesn't stay attached to the flat bed and it makes it extremely hard to play with. Normally I would find this to be not such a huge problem, but this particular piece is not one that we have in any of our other lego sets, so I can't easily replace it.

I tried getting in touch with Best Lock via the customer service e-mail address they have for the USA on their website a week ago, and still haven't heard back from them.

While the over all set is pretty exciting, we were disappointed with this product and will not be buying any other Best Lock toys in the future.

I always think Lego is a good toy for children, but Lego is too expensive somehow. This one is good subtitute of Lego, good quality, good price. For this garbage truck set, they offer some small garbages too, it's really fun.
