Now if you ask me, and so many folks do that I can't recollect what the number is, then this here Boxcar Willie CD is the all-time best use of plastics every created by mankind. This ain't just a collection of Boxcar's best songs, it's a collection of "best loved favorites." So this ain't a compilation CD of a bunch of tunes some producer in a studio decided to put together and flog to the masses - no - this one is a collection of the favorites.... And you know darn well what that means! It means you are going to be tapping your toes, whistlin' along, and grinning as the ole' Boxcar does what made him famous. Well, actually appearing in advertisements on UHF television channels at 2:30 AM made him famous, but his music makin' s also significant in his current standing as one of the greatest human beings to emerge from Sterratt, Texas. You think Jerry Lewis is a god in France? You ought to get a load of how the folks in Romania get all worked up over Boxcar Willie! They been talkin' about the prospect of placing his likeness on a postage stamp for about 15 years because during the dark days of the Evil Empire Boxcar Willie represented all thing free and good. He still does. Nicolai Chauchesku might not of had a couple of AK47 clips emptied in to the back of his corpse if he's discovered Boxcar Willie in the Romanian underground music scene in the late 70s, because Boxcar has a way of softening one's demeanor and tenderizing one's heart kind of like if you were to sprinkle some of that packaged meat tenderizer on your heart and put it back in to your chest.

This is a must have CD. You must have it. That's what I told Mama and she done got it for me last month through Amazon. It probably saved our marriage.

BoxCar Willie is one of my favorite country singers I listened to & loved the whole CD. I would recommend it to anyone who likes this singer. My most favorite song is " Whistle Ain't Made Of Gold" Amanda Miller

My parents got these from Heartland Music in 1988 after seeing an ad. I was 5 at the time. I played these over and over again.

These are great easy listening songs and although the music is a bit similar throughout, you can't help but enjoy them.

Boxcar Willie actually adds a nice spin to each of the songs and "keeps them moving." The harmony is quite nice.

It's difficult to choose a favorite but mine would have to be (and is my favorite recording of this song) Wings of a Dove.

They're great as traveling music.

I own mine on two cassettes and hope to get them on CD someday.
