Thanks to Oprah, I am reading and enjoying a hilarious comic strip again. I foolishly gave up on comic strips like this after my favorities ("Pogo", "Peanuts", and "Calvin and Hobbes") became unavailable other than repeats.
Thank you Oprah and especially thank you Patrick McDonnell. I have already ordered more of these books.
I sit down late at night to read a page before going to bed, but like a little kid, I find myself thinking repeatedly, "Okay, just one more page and then I'll go to bed".

This is a 10 year collection to make up the "Best of Mutts." I hope he produces another 10 year collection that brings us closer to 2014. If you are a pet lover, or a fan of Patrick McDonnell's cartoon strip, this is a great gift to enjoy again and again. Humor and simple lessons of life in each strip are timeless.

Alas, my book is printed UPSIDE-DOWN and BACKWARDS from the covers. I live so far away I am not going to send it back. Will cross my fingers and hope it's a rare mistake, a collector's fetish. The general quality of the book seems excellent, with its recycled paper very sturdy. I am going to love reading this, spending careful time with this masterwork. Patrick McDonnell loves his comics, their history, and every panel shows it. Oh please an annotated, collected version in beautiful hardcover (printed rightside up, of course) of the entire history of this comic!

I'm a great "Mutts" fan and have truly enjoyed (and re-enjoyed) this book. Patrick McDonnell is better than Prozac, and has no known negative side effects.

Given as a gift to a fellow animal-lover. She'd never heard of the comic strip while i've loved them for years. She loved this book, and now loves all things Mutts! The book is great because it gives the reader background knowledge and a history of the strip and its characters. Super-fun reading!
