I heard this album playing in a store and I had to walk up to a cashier and ask them who it was. I could not leave the store until I found out who it was. Well...they told me it was someone named Andrea Martin, and I was like, okay, I think I know her. So I kind of knew what to look for. I went and found this CD in a used store and bought it. Well, I would've paid full price for this little number because it is so amazing. I love Andrea's deep, rich, soulful voice. She sounds like a more soulful Monica. She even sounds like Toni Braxton a little bit, however I can understand what she's saying because she doesn't slur her words in attempts to sound sexy. This album is great to listen to from the beginning. Tracks 1-6 are incredibly bomb-diggity, and I just feel Andrea 100% as she sings How Could You Forget. I totally feel that. I love the Carribean influences in the music, I love the R&B beats, I just love it all. I'm sorry it took me two and a half years to discover this album because Andrea is very talented. I hope she comes out with something else in the near future because I'm a new fan, for sure.

This CD is so good. It's totally underrated. I love every track. Andrea has a beautiful voice and the lyrics and music are great. My favorites are Baby Can I Hold You, Breaking of My Heart, The Best of You, and How Could You Forget. This CD is a must have for REAL music lovers. I'm very satified with this purchase and happy that I decided to buy it after seeing the video for the song Let Me Return The Favor on BET in October of 1998.

Never heard of her before last week and then I heard she wrote some of Angie Stone's stuff. Went out and bought the CD on little else and now can't stop playing it!

This album by Andrea Martin is a very good album for those who love R&B or Soul music such as Angie Stone or Erykah Badu but Andrea is not as deep. Andrea writes 95% of the album and has wrote hits for other platinum artists. Songs worth mentioning are the 1st single "Let Me Return The Favor", "Steppin", "The Best Of You", "Share The Love" and all in between. This is an album that you can listen to straight thru, and you can appreciate Andrea's talent and voice. Andrea has some high profile producers such as Wyclef Jean, Rodney Jerkins, and Lauryn Hill. This album is way hotter than Jill Scott's also.

ANDREA MARTIN WILL PUT SOME OF THESE ROOKIE-SINGERS 2 SHAME!! THEY SHOULD THANK HER 4 NOT DOING ANOTHER ALBUM BECAUSE ALL OF THESE ROOKIES WOULD HAVE 2 FIND NEW WORK!! I HEARD HER VOICE A WHILE BEFORE SHE DROP THIS ALBUM... I NOTICE HER SINGING ON THE "SET IT OFF SOUNDTRACK" & I ASKED A FEW PEOPLE "WHO IS THAT WITH QUEEN LATIFAH"? NO ONE KNEW AT THAT TIME BUT TIME TOLD THE PUBLIC THAT "ANDREA MARTIN IS A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH"!!!! ANDREAS' SKILLS WERE SO GREAT THAT THE RADIO STATIONS GAVE AT LEAST 3 OF HER SONGS REGULAR PLAY!!!! ***WITH HER TALENT ALONE I'M OVERWHELMED THAT SHE'S SO UNDER-RATED!! WHEN "THE BEST OF ME" DROPPED ANDREA SPOKE UP 4 THE FEMALES & MALES THAT WERE DOING THEIR BEST 2 COPE WITH BREAK-UPS & STRESS-FULL RELATIONSHIPS (SHE DID IT WELL)!!!! ~~~I'M NOT SURE WHERE SHE WENT BUT I LOVE HER VOICE & R&B COULD USE MORE SOUL-FULL ARTIST LIKE: HER, LAURYN HILL, QUEEN LATIFAH, ERYKAH BADU, FLOETRY, JILL SCOTT, ANGIE STONE, AMEL LAURIEAUX & AMERIE!

~~~ANDREAS' DEBUT CAME WITH SUCH A STRONG IMPACT LIKE IT WAS 4 AMERIES' "ALL THAT I HAVE"!!!! ~~~ I LOVE HOW ANDREA HAD THAT "WEST INDIAN FLOW", SHE REPRESENTED 4 THE WEST INDIES LIKE "LAURYN HILL" & "QUEEN LATIFAH"--MUCH LOVE! I'LL SAY THAT IF YOU DIDN'T LIKE "THE BEST OF ME" THEN YOU SHOULD NEVER LISTEN 2 ANY R&B AGAIN--PERIOD!!!! >>>GET THE ALBUM OR GET LOST<<<

"The Best of Me" may have come out in the late 90's but it's getting heavy rotation on my CD player right now. Andrea Martin is so talented yet is virtually unknown in the R&B world. Why mainstream radio skips over talented songstess such as this is a wonder to me.

The upbeat tempo on these tracks are really contatious. I'm diggin' her version of "Sorry". The only thing I'm not so moved by is the Rap addition on the track "Set It Off."

I, for one, truly hope that it won't be long before Andrea comes out w/her Sophomore CD.

Andrea Martin is one of a kind.For those who dont know she has written for Toni Braxton, Monica, Envogue and SWV. I have had this album since it came out. .Anyone one who wants to be a part of this industry as an artist or songwriter should listen to it and learn from her vocal arrangements. lyrics and melodies. She been underrated for years. Everyone who hears it ,end up stealing it from me, and I still buy it over and over..She is "God sent "when it comes to her vocal ablitiy ,a songstress and a DIVA in her own world what talent..I hope to hear more fom her as an artist. If you have an ear for great music, this is one for you.

This album surprises by it's very known tracks. The known soundtrack song "Set it off" (Organzied noise with Andrea) is on it, so is the original of "Hung up" (now also sung by the UK group Five Star) and "Share the love" (lines of this track have been borrowed and put into a known club-song). So actually you know many of these songs already , but weren't aware of that. The voice is ok, but not strong. Anyway, it fits very well to the songs, so all in all it is a good and surprising buy.

i am very pleased to have met and interveiwed Ms. Martin. her debut cd is a collective compilation of accoustics, tight beats, and an innovative inclusion of carribean influence. under her writier's belt she has, (Monica) Before You Walk Out of My Life, (Toni Braxton) I Love Me Some Him, and (En Vogue) Don't Let Go Love. As an artist, Ms.Martin is sure to sore even more so than as a writer. The first track of her new cd is my absolute favorite (Let Me Return the Favor). Her choice of Wyclef Jean and Lauryn Hill as Producers on a couple of tracks, was definatly a wise decision on her part. I am not an easy ear to please, but Ms. Martin has won my vote!!!!

I'm very surprise to see this artist on your website.She's very under-rated.She worked with many known artist,haven't received the recognition she deserves.
