the rock will wear away,

Certainly a tribute to Meg Christian fans. This album will take you back to the day when womens music was political and feirce as well as soothing and gentle. This copulation of songs will transform and send you back to the 70's and 80's. A time when listenting to these lyrics could wear you away from the days events..and help you take hold of your feminist roots. The last album before Meg stopped producing lyrics and just before she joined the Siddha faith and followed Gurumayi. Darshan, the last song on this album speaks of her devotion and love for Gurumayi. A must purchase album if you want a wonderful piece of womens music history.

This CD was like an old friend coming to visit. If you like traditional, first-wave women's music you'll like this. Not as musically challenging, nor as well executed as the music that came later, this is an excellent representation of the music that brought many women solace, happiness, and a sense of belonging.Yay, Meg!

My introduction to Meg Christian's work was her LP "From The Heart." I fell in love with her music, and while "The Best of Meg Christian" is, without a doubt, full of beautiful songs and lovely vocals from Meg, I miss some of the songs that may not have been her most popular, but which I liked: "Willing to Go", "Living in the Moment," "You Got My Attention," "Happy Birthday" and "Here to There."My understanding is that Olivia records is so more; maybe that's why "From the Heart" never made it to CD form. I'm sorry it didn't; it was wonderful. But that being said, this CD is a keeper. I'm buying my second copy because my old CD player ate the first one and won't spit it back out :) I find Christian's songs inspirational. I'm sorry she seems to have retired. I hope that wherever she is now, that she's peaceful and happy. But it's our loss.

Meg Christian takes me back to the seventies when I believed that inequality between sexes and races would end. She is heart felt and a wonderful lyricist. It's beautifully nostalgic
