A good start for your Midnight Star collection, July 2, 2006
This review is from: Best of Midnight Star: Ten Best Series (Audio CD)
If you're looking for a complete Midnight Star collection, there isn't one. Each `greatest hits" compilation has it's own strengths and weaknesses. After much research, I finally choose this "The Best of" compilation as part of my strategy to own the ultimate Midnight Star collection.
Formerly a club DJ in the 80's, I was interested in only album or extended mixes. This CD included what I believe to be album cuts of Scientific Love and Engine No. 9; two must haves rarely found on other compilations. It also includes album cuts of Operator, Midas Touch, Headlines, & Wet My Whistle. Missing from this collection is Don't Rock The Boat and Electricity. One disappointment was the single mix of Freak-a-zoid.
With this CD I'll need to also purchase and download single mp3 extended mix versions of Freak-a-zoid, Electricity, Don't Rock the Boat, and possibly Operator to complete my ultimate Midnight Star collection. The best selling point about this CD is the price. At just $7 it represents a great value!

Midnight Star the journey continues, September 10, 2011
This review is from: Best of Midnight Star: Ten Best Series (Audio CD)
I have been a fan of this band since the Victory lp. It is really hard now days to get extended originals such is the case here as well. However, this compilation does rock the boat, if you know what I mean. Missing is Electricity one of my favorites but, you can't go wrong with this one. The only thing to make it better is to add the 12in. versions of their songs. That I would buy in a heartbeat. Overall, this should keep you funky for a good thirty-five or so minutes. Now, the vocals are tight, the music is on hit, there is no miss on this. Even the edited version of freak-o-zoid brings back memories of long nights at the clubhouse. Can I get a live album outta this band? There has got to be some live material hanging around studio or in someones house I want it. Do yah'll hear me? I want a live version, not from when they were about to call it quits, I mean from when they were at their best, can I get an Amen brother?! Amen brother.

Just Great!, July 18, 2011

This is a fantastic CD...popped it in the car and couldn't stop jamming. Brought back fantastic memories. If you love the 80's music and old school in general - this is an absolute must have. Midnight Star is fabulous. I wonder where they are today
