Includes a nice collection of the 'Clouds' hits from the early 60's such as: "Family Circle", "A Bright Side", "He's Able", and 8 (Eight) others. This album is just a quick fix on SOME of the group's early hits. A Box Set of ALL of their Peacock recordings would be real nice. Is there someone at a record company reading this??? It would sell...No Doubt! This has been a big seller on Vinyl, Cassette & now Compact Disc...Go On-Line so you can see what people are selling the Mighty Clouds Of Joy 'Original' Peacock albums for...That should tell you something??? Yeah you'll find bits and pieces of their Peacock Recordings on Various Compact Disc Collections, but think how now it would be to have ALL of them at your fingertips. A BOX SET WOULD WORK!!! MCA Records could do it, but Ace Records out of the U.K. could do a far better job. In fact even Collectables Records could do the job...Again RECORD COMPANIES...ARE YOU READING THIS!!!

I had this cd already. But I new this lady who had lost her lifelong partner in her husband and was feeling pretty depressed. She had told me before that she liked gospel music and what better time to buy this for her and it lifted her spirits like only belivers can believe.

I will be saying this a lot...this is one more program I'm renewing. wore the others out.

I have been a fan of theirs since 1970...? joe ligons was pronouncing his last name as "liggins..."
I told him I have (had) the same (maiden) name and we say "lig-ons." if you hear him say his name after that year, he now says the same as me...tell him yvonne ligons, jimmy jones' old girl said that ...they were appearing in oakland, ca. at the (then) oakland auditorium...(I'm not-t, the one jimmy left in chicago...smile...)

I'm always amazed that they don't use "what a friend we have in jesus" as their signature song. their rendition of that song, is what distinguished them from other male gospel singers and put them on top...joe leading with 4 hig-hhh tenor voices backgrounding...and richard on the guitar..

I first had this on a LP, then an 8 trac, then cassett and now cd...and wore then all out. hope this last...I will probably buy one more after I renew all my other stuff just to set aside..LOL

I love Gospel music as well as other types of music and this group is one of my favorites. I think that you will love this group of recordings.
