Excellent collection,

As a lifelong fan of this eccentric little band from England I found this collection to be of superb sound and selection. The only thing that kept it from being a "5" was the lack of any tune from the amazing SHAZAM album that first opened my ears to this fun bunch. Perhaps a shortened version of "Fields of People" or the entire "Cherry Blossom Clinic" would have made this indeed a treasure. If you are interested in the music that was being created in Britain in the late 60s and early 70s and don't know about the MOVE do yourself a favor and treat yourself to their quirky, exciting and innovative songs.

Great pop music!,

The Move produced some of the greatest pop music of the '60s but were all but ignored in the U.S. This CD has all of the essentials, "Fire Brigade", "I Can Hear the Grass Grow", "Blackberry Way", etc. Roy Wood wrote some of the best pop music this side of The Beatles, and the band, even through all of the personel changes, performed those songs at an extremely high level. Get this recording and see what all the excitement in the U.K. was about.

I got this CD to replace my old "Best of The Move" double vinyl set and I'm glad I did. The remastering is well done. I am hearing background things that I never noticed before. The song selection runs from their first hit "Night Of Fear" till their last single "California Man" (which the liner notes say was coming out of the UK Top10 as the first ELO single "10538 Overture" was coming into it). Lots of great stuff. I have never heard a clearer version of "Blackberry Way" and it's even more beautiful than I remember it on vinyl. Many of the early tracks are presented in their original mono mixes and really sound clean. If you want one CD that tells the whole story of the MOVE, get this CD.

alot of music for the money with tracks that are hard to find available as mp3's.The early A sides are essential Roy Wood pop, the thunderous bass of Wood during the later Jeff Lynne lineup really rocks tunes like Brontosaurus, When Alice comes back to the Farm, and Turkish Train Conductor. Beautiful interior photo of the band. The Bsides on last third of the cd are hit and miss.
