GRAB YOUR WATER BOTTLES!!!!!!,
By Sicilian Diesel God (Fresh Meadows, New York United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Best of NYC Afterhours: Feel the Drums (Audio CD)
You want a cd that will make you think it is 4am and you are downing poland spring water bottles or ripped force drinks like no tomorrow then this is it. This cd is non stop beats. It is a nice mix of old with semi-old with a little new. To like this cd though you have to be a club head, there is not that much vocals on here. However, as a big vocal fan, I can say that the beats will more than make up for the small amount of singing. The beat will really get the blood pumpin :) and everything is mixed extremely well. I am impressed at this cd as I can listen to it at 7:30pm on the way to the gym and get my veins pumped like its Sunday morning at Factory and I just started my weekend.

This review is from: Best of NYC Afterhours: Feel the Drums (Audio CD)
If you are one of those people who have been waiting for a CD that truly has the best after hours club music this cd is for you! Not only does this cd have killer club tracks it is also mixed by one of the best DJ's in the industry. Bad Boy Joe has definitely taken mix compilations to another level. This cd is much more than great club tracks! The level of energy that you will feel when listening to this cd is mind boggling. I was listening to this cd in my car and i didn't realize how fast i was going! If you are going to listen to this cd in your car make sure you use cruise control! I will listen to this cd every day until volume 2 is available. Congratulations to Bad Boy Joe for a job well done.

this cd sort of fell into my lap a few weeks ago, and ever since i got it i literally have not stopped listening to it. the tracks are amazing.. new songs are mixed with old classics so flawlessly its amazing. i seriously cannot find a bad song on this cd. if you were a frequent dweller of factory, exit, etc... then you definitely shouldnt go another minute without this cd. seriously, one of the best, if not the best house cd this year. it blows everything by louie devito out of the water. grab your straw and crank up the headphones.

What A Fun Continuous Mix!,
By The Spastic Fantastic Mighty House Cat "Frosty5" (Waltham, Massachusetts, United States, Planet Earth) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Best of NYC Afterhours: Feel the Drums (Audio CD)
I've first heard about this album in a radio ad. The first thing that came to my mind was that this was another Louie Devito album. It turned out that this CD was mixed by Bad Boy Joe. There are many club hits I know on this compilation. I still enjoy hearing Derb's "Derb" with its hard percussion and synthesizers, Drunken Munky's "E" with its saxophone, "Final Chapter" by Mike Macalusso where the bells make the song sound like a LOTR club mix, this is such a sweet album! I play it the whole way through!Other songs include Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction." The vocals in "Satisfaction" are two robot voices (one male, one female) from the Simple Text programs on Macintosh. The lyrics go "Push me, and then just touch me, till I can get my, satisfaction(x5)." There's also "Blow The Speakers" by The Moon. One time when I was over in New Hampshire, I actually blew the speakers playing this song! The sound went out in like a 200 foot radius, and this was from a small boombox at half volume! I guess I'm that insane. This CD also has Whatchamacalit's "Chocolate Track." The song sounds similar to an old Atari game, but there's a fun part in the middle of the track thanks to Bad Boy Joe. He mixes samples of other songs on the album in the middle of this track. Also, this is not the first time that Space Frog's "Follow Me" was released on a US album! I have proof that they're wrong! Robbins Entertainment released "Best Of House Volume One" back in 2001. "Follow Me" was included in that album. This album also contains "Da Hype" by Junior Jack. It's the first time I've heard this song and I think it's great! This mixed compilation also includes "Bucci Bag" by Andrea Doria, Darue's "Feel The Beat" (the Robbie Rivera Mix), "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" by Aquagen, "Who Am I" by Massiv, Tim Rex's "Relentless" (both full length and short versions), "Right On Time" by Syndicate Of Law, D Devil's "The Final Countdown" (sounds nothing like Europe's "Final Countdown"), and more. There's also an Intro track with Vic Latino, and a Megamix (also featuring Vic). What's different about the megamix on this album than on Louie Devito's is that on Devito's albums, they're mixed in track order while on this album, the megamix is organized more randomly. If it wasn't for that radio ad, I'd be missing something that I've wanted. I guess I'm kept busy throughout the rest of the year. What more could I say?

I just bought The Best of NYC Afterhours - by BadBoyJoe & it is one of the best mixed CD's I've ever heard!!! This CD is great to listen to at the gym while your working out or while your driving. It isn't like those other boring CD's that are out there. The songs really keep you going. The track listing is great!! There are all of the hottest new club anthems, along with all of the old. I definitely recommend this CD to anyone that wants to listen to good music!!!

The Hottest Mix of The Summer,
By A Customer
This review is from: Best of NYC Afterhours: Feel the Drums (Audio CD)
Bad Boy Joe's latest THE BEST OF NYC AFTERHOURS features some of the biggest monster hits that are sure to keep your body movin all summer long! This mix features 25 banging cuts along with the intro and Bad Boy Joe's infamous megamix at the end of the disc. The mix starts off quite nicely with "Da Hype" from Junior Jack then slowly progresses into darker tribal sounds of "Feel The Beat" remix from Robbie Rivera. Other tracks such as the colossal club hit "Satisfaction" from Benny Benassi or Eric Morillo's "Dancin (I got the pills)" are huge hits all over that are sure to appeal to all clubbers. The one thing I probably love most about NYC AFTERHOURS is the fact that this record features a variety of different electronic music styles. Everyone should be able to find something here for themselves as this record is a mix of Trance/Techno/Progressive/House/Tribal and Hardhouse skillfully blended in together to form a great summer party mix for either the serious clubheadz or the more laid back long island ice sippers! This mix was made for the summer '04 so dont leave your home without it!

What surprised me about Bad Boy Joe is the fact that he seemed to have shifted away from the Freestyle Megamixes and started following more into Devito's footsteps with the Ultimate House Megamix and now focusing even deeper on true head bangin beats coming off THE BEST OF NYC AFTERHOURS which features some of the best house/tribal/progressive sounds of the past years. Tracks such as Erick Morillo's "Dancin'", Robbbie Rivera's pounding tribal remix of Darude's "Feel The Beat" and "Satisfaction" by an artist who doesnt need introduction, Mr. Benny Benassi are sure to keep your body sored up for days from all the dancing. I've noticed that a lot of the tracks featured on the disc are brand new coming off the Winter Music Conference of 03/04 which focuses on the biggest DJ's from all over the world getting together and sharing their latest cuts for all the hardcore clubbers out there. When you buy this record you get a mix of crazy-sick beats from huge party-houses such as Crobar, Sound Factory, Spirit, Exit, the Hamptons clubs as well as Jersey Shore's. I've noticed a lot of the tracks are exclusive remixes from all the after parties in the NYC nightscene, and that's hard to find. Dont waste your money on checking out the New York club scene if you live far away as this mix IS THE NEW YORK Club Scene that's sure to leave your ears beggin for more. So get on with the ice packs and water bottles cause Bad Boy Joe's new NYC AFTERHOURS mix is a body movin' all nighter. (btw, Joe? when's the next one coming out?!?)
