5.0 out of 5 stars Russell J. Schultz, July 8, 2001
This review is from: Best Of Najee (Audio CD)
The first time I heard NAJEE,'Can't Hide Love' was on the radio. This guy is re-writing the book of producing smooth, sultry and VERY romantic jazz! Night life, jet-cool jazz at it's finest!! 'For the Love of You' is also a great 'warm-up' to 'Can't Hide Love'. The ending of 'Can't Hide Love' WILL move your soul! A must for the serious smooth jazz lover!

I really like the fact that Najee showcases his woodwind skills on both the flute and sax. The flute work on Stevie Wonder's 'I am Singing ' is beautiful as well as a Jarreau piece. The sax work is not as strong mainly due to somewhat vapid and overly pop sounding rhythms and instrumental support.

5.0 out of 5 stars smooth jazz, August 30, 2007
This review is from: Best Of Najee (Audio CD)
This is a nice smooth, relaxing set of music performed by Najee, that some may initially hear and say "who is this artist?" If you are into smooth jazz, you will like this.

This is one of my all-time top 10 jazz CDs. Not only is Najee a great solo artist, but he is also a fine contributor to other jazz greats of our time. If Najee is in your collection, you know jazz. His talents are so great, you feel like you're listening to a CD sampler. At least two of these songs are cover songs -- Can't Hide Love (Earth, Wind & Fire) and Sweet Love (Anita Baker). Najee does an excellent job making these two songs sound all new in today's style. My favorites of this CD are For the Love of You and Niculela Es Una Historia. For The Love of You has a soft, smooth sound; Niculela Es Una Historia has beautiful Latin sound.

I love and have this album. It is so cool. Najee is one of my favorites jazz musicians. After morning tenderness, I am now waiting for another good music from him...and i am confident about that

5.0 out of 5 stars Where in the hell is Rahni Song??!!, October 9, 2001

I have been a Najee fan from the beginning! Though his albums over the years have been wonderful pieces of music, the magic has never been the same since the Najee's Theme album with the golden touch of producer Rahni Song! I think Najee needs to re-visit the magic. Since Rahni Somg is still kicking out the sounds with Marion Meadows latest project "Next to You", it is obvious that Rahni Song (now producing under the name of YASHA)has the Magic!!!

A quick suggestion for all you lovely folks: If you don't like any greatest hits collection, if you think it's missing a/some needed song(s) try a combination of the best of/greatest hits/ultimate/classic collections or some artists are just worth it to buy each individual cd. That will solve all your problems. Or just figure out what songs you can live without. The truth is just about every greatest hits/best of... collection will miss some of your favorite songs. They don't please everybody----SIMPLE AS THAT! I'm stating facts. So stop griping over missed songs. It's always gonna happen.
