Just what the world needs, three CDs of bent, twisted, warped and weird humor courtesy of people such as Chevy Chase, John Belushi and Gilda Radner. The NLRH spent most of its existence as a half-hour radio comedy show, in the course of which almost anything was fair game (subject to the strictures of radio at the time), including other comedians. It was a show that had moments of fabulous inspiration (including a deadly Pete Seeger parody) as well as moments of surrealism that easily matched the Firesign Theater. This triple-disc box set provides an excellent sampling of the show, and comes with a booklet that provides both a history of the show and a case of confusion (the design and typography are, to say the least, peculiar.) Overall, if you're in the mood for semi-surreal seventies comedy, this box set is just the ticket. ~ Steven McDonald
