I don't know what this other reviewer's problem is...I assume he's an aspiring poet who was rejected from the anthology. But this is an excellent book and it was edited well by D.A. Powell. What I love about this series is you get a good feeling for the climate of poetry, year by year. There is a lot to like here.

Format: Paperback
A prospective purchaser of this book might be able to claim "false advertising." Most of the work is not only unimaginative, it is absolutely NOT "poetry"! At best, the bulk of it is "prose" (and pedestrian prose at that).
Hoping to find the aesthetic? the evocative?....Nope. Absent.
Seeking elevated thought? Creativity? A touch of elegance that distinguishes "poetry" from "prose"? Go fish.
This collection is truly one for the ages...the ages of 6 through 12.
