5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Classic Euro-Italo Dance Music
F.R. David has been around since the early 80's with hits like "Words" and "Pick Up The Phone". This album combine these hits, including updated versions of "Words" and "I Need You". You will also enjoy "Girl", "Stay", and "Sahara Nights". This CD includes all the hits from his first LP to his third...

3.0 out of 5 stars 'New Version' is just misleading
This album was originally released back in 1985; it's in fact David Foster's 1st album, recorded in Los Angeles between 1982 and 1983; some tracks have been made famous by other artists (like "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" by Chicago).

This is NOT a compilation, just an album named after the last track on the CD (which is the only non-instrumental one), with Richard...

5.0 out of 5 stars "Best of Me", yes, but NOT a compilation., February 17, 2001

There seems to be some confusion over the content of this CD. As mentioned in earlier reviews, the title, "The Best of Me", is not indicating that this is a "best of" collection, but rather is the title track from the album, which was released back in the 80's. There is, however, a difference between the "old" and "new" versions, as suggested by the album's description. The original release of this recording did not have the song, "Hard to Say I'm Sorry", but instead, featured a vocal duet by David Foster and Vicki Moss, entitled, "Love at Second Sight". (If anyone has the Dionne Warwicke album, "Friends", you'll find the same song on her album as well.) This was the now out-of-print release by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs. (US version.) The other difference, (besides the cover art), is that the songs are in a slightly different order; the album began with "Whatever We Imagine", and finished with "Night Music". On either version that you find, however, I highly recommend this, or any, of David Foster's albums.

This is the best album out of all David Foster's album. Very romantic song. Tend to be a bit sad, though. Recommended !

This album can be called a re-released from David Foster's first album with the same title. Most songs are instrumental and IMHO his best work ever. Originally only released and distributed in Japan, this album included all songs except Love At Second Sight (duet with Vikki Moss). This song has a remarkable tune. Perhaps his best composition and arrangement. Very differ than all his later works with vocals.

Obviously one of the best compilations of David Foster's music. A romantic album BUT could be a little depressing for those of you who are a little down & out.
