Format: Paperback
Oord and Luhn have written a book that is very accessible. The title comes across a bit arrogant at first glance, because I wonder how the authors could know what I have heard in the past or will hear in the future. I read the seventy pages very quickly and felt a little guilty that I did not really give it a chance. After waiting a couple of months, I decided to reread it and give it a fair chance.

Honestly, everything in the book is something that I have heard before, so it was easy to dismiss it the first time through. Then after reflecting a bit, I realized that hearing about God's love for me and the world is the best news that I have ever heard. The authors reminded me of this.

Maybe you know nothing about God. This book will introduce you to a God of love, who loves you.
Maybe you know God, but you feel that God is angry at you. This book will tell you about a God who loves you in spite of yourself.
Maybe you love God, but feel alone. This book will show you ways to love God with others.

The only caveat to the title of this book is that you have to choose to accept the news. Will you?

The Best News You Will Ever Hear is a small book with a potentially HUGE eternally life transforming message. But in order to receive the message, you have to purchase the book and read it.

The Best News You Will Ever Hear written by author and professor of Theology Thomas Oord and Pastor Robert Luhn is truly the "best news" you will ever hear. In their book they share the best news of "The Gospel of Jesus Christ" in a very simple, easy to read and understand manner.

In their book the authors share 5 important messages: The first being that "God Is Not Mad At You," second "That God is a Good Creator," (which he is); third "Something Has Gone Wrong," (and it has...something has gone terribly wrong in that through the disobedience of Adam and Eve SIN entered the world and as the consequence of the "sin issue" not being dealt with Biblically not only does a person experience physical death but also separation from God for all eternity in a real literal place called Hell). So I guess you could pretty emphatically state that indeed "Something Has Gone Wrong." In Chapter 4 the authors write about "God's Loving Leadership," and shares that through repentance and faith in the historical Jesus as Savior, the "sin issue" can be dealt with eternally...that is if a person repents and turns to faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior. When a person does that they inherit "eternal life;" however, they also have as Jesus shared in his teaching to his disciples an "abundant life" in this world. In Chapter 5 the authors write about "What We Should Do With the Good News?" Once we have embraced the good news of the Gospel ourselves we should share it with others.
