My ten year old son received this book for Christmas and he loves it. He has really enjoyed learning to draw is favorite Nickelodeon characters. It has great step by step directions that are very easy to follow and not frustrating.

hmmm.... ok? or not?, May 23, 2010
This review is from: Best of Nickelodeon (Nick How To Draw) (Paperback)
Depends on how experienced you/your kid already is with drawing. And or how much you/kid want to learn to draw. How much patience, how much eye for detail. Seem to me kids need some drawing experience for this one. Or realy wants to learn, and has the patience and eye for detail. Not everyone can draw good from the get go. Seems this is for 8 year and older.
Also the book shows you how to draw 16 Nickelodeon characters. One on each 2 pages, or so. Each in one specific stand/pose. So you get 'one' SpongeBob. Not 5 different, which was a bit of a dissapointment. Each character is shown the very basic, at step 1, with circkles and blocks shapes (which is good), and then the next steps you build on that. But it goes very fast from basic shapes to details. Soem characters less steps then other, but still with a lot of even more details. Like Reggie and Sam (in just 4 steps, but with a lot of details). So you realy need to have eye for detail.
Still it's lots of fun and will keep you/kid busy, if you/kid are up to it. You might wanna take a look in it first. Or just get it, if you don't mind the $7. For it's price, it a good buy. (16 characters for less then $7).
Have fun!
