The list author says: "I don't know about you, but I find that most CDs/albums by even my favorite artists have only a few really good numbers and the rest are filler. Artists spread themselves pretty thin. So below are the CDs from this past decade that I find the most listenable throughout, with very few tedious tracks."
"From 2001(alt title ME AND THE DRUMMER). Willie's best ORIGINAL album(all his own compos). His over-all best remains his breakthrough album of old pop standards STARDUST (1975, classic songs not written by him)."
"'Out of retirement' CD. Disappointed that title track is NOT the same song recorded by John Denver on the Nitty Gritty Dirt band CD: Will The Circle Be Unbroken. By far the best two cuts are the first two."
"I STILL CAN'T SAY GOODBYE (See my 'Good Movies And Music About Dad'.)Also LEAVING'S NOT THE ONLY WAY, CHICAGO WIND, MEXICO, IT ALWAYS WILL BE . The latter's good but done better by the writer Willie on my top choice of CD on this list."
"Van tries his hand at country and does pretty well. Includes still one more version of one of my favorite love songs: TILL I GAIN CONTROL AGAIN, written by Rodney Crowell. Another version on my #1 choice above."
"Aging voice still sounds pretty good HERE, and I still prefer to listen to him than 98% of other artists. Not an exaggeration. It helps that he is still our greatest songwriter. Clips on MP3 only. Best are 1st 2 cuts."
"4 fine songs: ANY MINOR MIRACLE, INVISIBLE, A TOUCH OF MORNING, POWERS AT PLAY and a good number that are so-so make this CD worth having. Some songs make me worry if Burton is heading for the dark side. Only 2 concerts in 2010 worried me too, but big tour planned for 2011. Whew!"
"Reunion of former Canadian band GUESS WHO members. Fun reworkings of old pop hits. Nothing great here, but all very listenable. Cummings has the best voice ever devoted to rock'n'roll. Doesn't show here though, except maybe LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL and DON'T TALK TO HIM."
