Editorial Reviews

Best of Penn Says: Religion is the ultimate collection of Penn Jillette's most controversial, completely uncensored assessments of where religion has gone wrong, taken from his hit Crackle Original web series, Penn Says. In this up close and personal show, Penn the Magician, Inventor, Philosopher, Social Critic and Celebrity Atheist discusses, teaches, and tears apart common misconception and bares his brain for all to see. What's the difference between Agnosticism and Atheism? How much of a role should religion play in the major political races? Is proselytizing an act of kindness or just an obtrusive annoyance?

This disc is expected to play back in DVD Video "play only" devices, and may not play in other DVD devices, including recorders and PC drives.

This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.

Although the concept is very interesting, the quality is very poor. He is basically just randomly chatting to a camera. It gets very redudant and very long winded. However, if you can sit throught it - the message is great!

The same Penn as in the popular Penn & Teller B-S TV series......this isn't funny like the B -S series, but is interesting viewing for n on-religious people. The ones who need it most are the religious fundamentalists....they might learn something.....but they won't watch it because they'd fear the DVD is the work of the devil. But if you don't believe in gods and devils and evil spirits etc., you'll enjoy it. Do note it has a lot of Penn just chatting about the subject, rather than a well scripted entertainment production. It's not meant to be a great fun type of DVD like the B-S series. If you're looking for solid entertainment,do buy the B-S series on DVD. This "Religion" DVD (Penn is a well-known atheist) is perhaps aimed more at showing people why religion is B-S.

That line ought to be up with the Title and Picture of the product.

I play dvds on my computer. This does not work on a computer. Therefore it is pretty much worthless to me. Yes, way down in the description it has a line saying that. However, I saw a product I wanted, there was nothing indicating that defect at the top of the page, so I added it to the cart and bought it, seeing as how I thought I was getting an actual dvd. If you're going to do this, it should be up at the top with the title and picture so we know its not a regular dvd. If you click the link for desciption of on demand dvds, it says :

CD-Rs and DVD-Rs (the "R" stands for "recordable") look like the discs you're used to and offer the same audio and image quality. This recordable media is used to manufacture titles on demand, as fully authorized by the content provider.

This is not what I'm used to. I'm used to DVDs that work on anything that play dvds. If the makers were trying to be shifty knowing some people would miss that problem, well done. If you're trying to make a good product, terrible.
