A complete [loss]... As soon as I opened the box and saw the size of the book, I knew it was going to be skimpy. Washington DC has more plastic surgeons than any other city in the county and only 2 1/3 pages cover this city - ... Very few categories and very little information. ... There is no ISBN or bar code on the cover, no info on the author, no author listed on the spine - looks very unprofessional.

I was super excited awaiting this book because I read some good reviews on here. Once I received the book- it looked very flimsy and more like a brochure - nonetheless, I set out on my quest for the "best" doctor from this book. I visited a total of 4 doctors all of which the book suggested. I can't even begin to tell you what horrible choices all 4 were. One doctor was in a mad dash to get me to commit. Another was so unbelievably old his office was extremely dusty. Another didn't take the time - seemed preoccupied and lastly when I went into the other's office while I was in the waiting room - a woman came in complaining about the bad job he had done on her - needless to say I excused myself on out of there. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!! This author should be looked into for writing and marketing false adverting. Steer clear!!! don't waste your time or many!!!!!!!!

1 star because it was so easy to lift, as it is more of a pamphlet than a book. i dont believe the results since i live in los angeles and know a few things about these doctors..many of the best arent even listed...it is a waste and doesnt say how many dr.s answered and who exactly is this woman who wrote it? never says..very suspicious do not waste your money

I was pretty happy with this book although it did not have Chicago. It had doctors listed by procedures so it was not like a list of general "best plastic surgeon" but instead had it listed by procedure so you could find the best at breast reconstruction or revision nose surgery. The book had a bit of info on what to look for and what to watch our for but seemed more of a list of the doctors that were voted best.
It was helpful, and since I planned to do face surgery it is better safe then sorry.

I found that in many cities a lot of the plastic surgeons listed were associates of one another.Partners were nominating partners as being the BEST for a particular procedure. Not a real objective book.

I was a bit reserved about buying this book, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it made the search so much easier for me. I would recommend it to anyone that is seriously looking to have a consultation, this book will not give you information about plastic surgery itself, it will only give you the results of the survey, so it is only the list of the doctors that were voted for listed by their specialty. So you need to be at the point of choosing the doctor and if your at that stage then this is a very valuable book - highly recommend

I really liked this book, I agree that it is no fluff, only the results of the survey with some info on how to choose your doctor and what to watch out for. I would recommend it if you are either trying to see if the doctor you have chosen is good at that proceedure or if you dont know where to start.
With the cost of plastic surgery and the trauma of a bad job...... I say it is worth it becuase you cant do too much research.

I visited 4 of the doctors listed and after doing even more research, I found the info listed to be right on.

This is more of a pamphlet with a limited amount of doctors listed, in very few cities throughout the country. The author makes no attempt to reference the criteria for the selected doctors. It is a total waste of time and money.

I thought this book was very helpful to me, many of the doctors who were voted best were also the ones I had heard about which confirmed the information to me. As the other reveiw stated, there is barely any fluff but that was fine as I bought this book to see the results not fluff. I recommend.

I was so close to picking who I now know was the wrong surgeon. After having a not so great first nose surgery, I dont think I could have taken another bad one. I was pleased that this book listed surgeons who were voted best for secondary nose surgery. it took the guessing out.
