Matt Bianco was a band that enjoyed European chart success during the 1980's and early 90's mixing New Romantic New Wave with swing, bossa, salsa and lounge music as well as being the springboard from which Basia launched her solo career. Their biggest hit stateside was 'Yeh Yeh' and their biggest hit in Europe, 'Don't Blame It On That Girl', was produced by none other than Emilio Estefan. WEA. 2005.

Being a big fan of Basia, I learned about her beginnings with Matt Bianco.Much in the same style as Basia, Matt Bianco is an enjoyable blend of; Salsa/Jazz/Swing/R & B and pure fun. A must have for Basia fans and those who enjoy upbeat happy MUSIC.

You either like Matt Bianco or you don't. What can I say. I've ALWAYS liked most of their releases but they seem to have more fans in Europe than the US. Favs are "Just Another Day" with Basia, "Good Times", "Fire in the Soul","Matt's Mood", and "Say It's Not Too Late". Hmmmmmm. I think I need another Matt Bianco CD!

Basia's harmonies really stand out and the arrangements are fantastic especially with the headphones on. Quality always floats to the top and Matt Bianco proves that their blend of jazzy hipsway, brassy funk and bossa nova groove never goes out of style. This has it all.
