Biography

The music of Disney has been enchanting and entertaining audiences for generations, from the first time Mickey Mouse whistled a tune in Steamboat Willie to the modern-day phenomenon of the internationally popular Hannah Montana. In the words of Leonard Maltin, "Some people will tell you that music was a key ingredient of Walt Disney's success. Don't you believe it. Music was the foundation of Walt… Read more in Amazon's Disney Store

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT WORTH BUYING! re-mastered songs, January 28, 2003

This review is from: Best of Pooh & Tigger Too (Audio CD)
I was extremely disappointed in this CD - I would have taken it back but the store where I purchased it would not take the CD back after I removed it from the cellophane.

Why? Because I had the original, vinyl record when I was a kid and LOVED it. The lyrics are great and really enjoyable for everyone. I can still repeat the lyrics by heart.

As a result, I was heartbroken when I bought this CD and discovered that all the classic songs were "remastered" meaning they were sung by different singers, at different speeds! I just could not listen to my beloved songs being gargled at high speed. These songs are very clearly NOT the original recordings.
So, this CD is being donated to the local library, where kids that did not hear the originals will hopefully not be disappointed as I was.

3.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat Disappointing, June 28, 2001

I was so excited to buy this CD for my two and a half year old son, because he loves Pooh and Tigger and all the songs. But, as we are enjoying his favorites Disney decides to throw in a bunch of songs about Pooh (somewhat) but by adult artists, and they are not even sung in a childlike manner. He loses interest, and sometimes starts to cry because he does not recognize or like those songs. Disney had so many songs SUNG by Pooh and Tigger et al they could have chosen, but they had to pad with some drivel. So, enjoy the CD for the couple of great classics, but fast forward through the padding.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the Soundtrack I Was Looking For, April 14, 2002
This review is from: Best of Pooh & Tigger Too (Audio CD)
The first nine tracks are acceptable remakes of the songs from the original movies, but your kids will know right away that it isn't Pooh Bear & company singing. We don't even listen to the rest of the CD because the kids don't recoginze the songs. I was disappointed.
