"This game is highly addictive! I have logged countless hours of playtime and over 7K miles driven on this game! I love the environments in this game and it is just so damn fun evading the police and completing the missions. The Battle Machine RX-7 is one of my favorite cars of all-time. Even if it is a beast to handle at 200mph!"
"This is my 2nd favorite racing game next to NFS Undercover. Nice graphics and details on cars, very fun to race around Los Angeles, and a nice selection of tuners. They did a nice job of capturing the urban feel of LA."
"Very nice graphics for the PS2, solid driving mechanics, and I like the night time environment of the city. Nice selection of cars too and I like the combination of circuit, sprint, drag, drift, and track racing. Customizations are great, too. But I don't like how you lose your customized parts when you change cars. If only they would release this for the PS3!"
"PS2 graphics of course, however, the cityscape and the canyons look pretty cool and I like how they blended the live actors with the CG on the cut scenes. And unlike many other NFS games, this one actually has a storyline to it. Albeit a very simple one."
"Much more like Burnout Paradise than a NFS game. No NFS storyline, no challenge series, and no customization to cars. But, a visually good game with a nice selection of cars and a lot of fun racing around the city causing trouble."
"A lot of people feel this is the best NFS title in recent years. But I don't. A good game, but I really prefer urban racing v. rural tracks. However, shutting down racers and police with spike strips and EMP makes the game very enjoyable!"
"This game took me nearly a month to complete! A lot of game material here and it is challenging at parts. Very fun overall with some frustrating elements, but the sweet car graphics, customization of your ride, and extensive collection of cars to choose from make this one very enjoyable! Too bad it's only track racing."
"I prefer street racing games, dirt racing is towards the bottom of my list, but I have kept this game in my collection because it's a good game if you like dirt racing. I do like some of the drifting and parking lot tracks. Graphics are nice; continually being asked to pay another $1 to unlock the next track, series, or sponsor is annoying though."
"Not as impressive as NFS Underground 2 in my opinion - something about working my way up a list is not too appealing. But I like that there's a story involved with this game, albeit a bit overdone that everyone in the story is an a-hole! Customization is poor in this game, too. The addition of cops adds both appealing and unappealing aspects to the series."
"Car customization is fun as is the addition of the Tokyo map, but the graphics just aren't there to make it anything special. The LA Complete edition is miles and miles ahead of this game and it was released for the PS3, making this PS2 game pretty much obsolete."
"Insanely difficult game - mostly due to really poor driving mechanics. Steep learning curve to learn how to "drive" and then there's no real payoff even after you do win a race. Graphics are about what you'd expect from an early PS3 game. Tracks are OK, but nothing special."
