2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
Owning two of Rimes' other albums, I anxiously awaited this one. The others are: "LeAnn Rimes", a mix of country favorites, and "Blue", her first hit album. This "remix", however, is much different and IMHO decidedly inferior. Rimes sings to a loud disco accompaniment, vocals lacking the smoothness and clarity of her better known recordings. The final track, a nice...

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the extra $$$$$, July 19, 2004

This review is from: Best of: Remixed (Audio CD)
Seeing as this compilation probably won't be released in North America, American and Canadian fans of LeAnn will find that importing this disc is very much worth the time and cash. A number of these remixes are hard to come by (Tic Toc, Sittin' on Top of the World, The Right Kind of Wrong, We Can, Life Goes On, Suddenly, The Last Thing On My Mind, You Are) and are great to have in any collection. A few of the remixes (Can't Fight the Moonlight, How Do I Live, But I Do Love You, I Need You) are fairly common and easily available in the US and Canada, but the album itself is a gem and nicely put together.

This "remix", however, is much different and IMHO decidedly inferior. Rimes sings to a loud disco accompaniment, vocals lacking the smoothness and clarity of her better known recordings. The final track, a nice rendition of "Over the Rainbow", provides the lone exception to the disco sound.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, irresistible remix album of LeAnn's best songs!, February 19, 2006
This review is from: Best of: Remixed (Audio CD)
LeAnn Rimes found a rare chance to have both a successful country music career and her remixes of those songs to do well on the dance charts. I have heard some of these remixes before on various albums and it was a good idea to combine the best 14 of those remixes for this album. Warning--it moves very quickly on the first four numbers because of the high dance energy. I still love Can't Fight the Moonlight, How Do I Live, Soon, the nice duet with Ronan Keating, I Need You and But I Do Love You. I think that the 3 remixes from Graham Stack on here are his best and have made him a better producer or remixer of songs the past several years. The remixes from Thunderpuss, Aurora Borealis, Mark and Jeff Taylor of the Metro and Brian Rawling Productions group, Widelife, Dave Aude, Mr. Mig and others are just as strong, funky and danceable. Sometimes they're better than dear old dad Wilbur Rimes' conservative productions on LeAnn's studio albums. And the somewhat challenging Desmond Child and Trevor Horn efforts. They did all kinds of things with LeAnn's voice on these remixes. These songs have so many valleys, directions and shifts in its chord changes. They added an acapella song to show LeAnn's own singing too rather than just the remixes. If she would have gone to P. Diddy, it would have been a huge hit too, the way he gets people on the dance floors! This is perfect music to ride to on a long car road trip--it's meant for it! It's like Euro dance meets Nashville all in one place!

Yet another questionable collection by an artist who seems to be searching for something. Should appeal mainly to those who want to re-live disco through monotonous techno-beats dialed up on mail-order soundboards. Radio edits? Can't picture any of this getting air time. The a capella track at the end, however uninspired, was a welcome respite. Not for LeAnn Rimes fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars LeAnn Remixed!, August 20, 2004
This review is from: Best of: Remixed (Audio CD)
This is a wonderful compilation for fans of LeAnn Rimes. Especially if you are a fan of her various remixes. This is a pretty well rounded collection. Most of her big hits from the last few years are here. Her first big club hit was "How Do I Live", the mixes helped make this one of her biggest hits. The Mr. Mig Dance Radio Edit is a great mix of this song. LeAnn found even more crossover success with the COYOTE UGLY movie/soundtrack. From that we have mixes for "Can't Fight The Moonlight" (Latino Mix), "The Right Kind of Wrong" (Graham Stack Radio Edit), "But I Do Love You" (Almighty Radio Edit). The "Cant Fight The Moonlight" mix is pretty common, but there are a bunch of mixes here that are otherwise unavailable to North American fans. Great mixes for "Last Thing On My Mind", "I Need You", "Life Goes On", and "We Can". Overall a worthy collection for avid fans!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not A Good Idea, September 1, 2010

These songs all sounded like disco to me. The music was very monotonous and didn't fit well with the lyrics or the vocals. I wouldn't recommend this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!, January 25, 2007
This review is from: Best of Remixed (Audio CD)
I really enjoyed this cd of LeAnn's remixes. The song 'Over The Rainbow' is simply amazing. Never has LeAnn laid down such beautiful vocals as she did with this one. If you're a LeAnn Rimes fan, I highly recommend you purchase this cd.
