2.0 out of 5 stars Just by a statistics book.
The author attempts to cover experimental design while skimping on the statistics. The best research practice is to consult a statistician or read a statistics book! That is if you seek to prove anything.

This book is the "Ying" to the "Yang" represented by my shelf of statistics and modeling books. Those of us studying processes in nature, rather than in the controlled environment of a laboratory, need all the help they can get to "obtain reliable knowledge". Romesburg's book provides the guidance for framing intelligent hypotheses and gathering meaningful data to ensure the analyses with appropriate statistical methods is fruitful. The abundance of examples drawn from published literature in many different fields is a great help in illustrating the concepts discussed. Reading it feels less like being buried in the stacks at the library and more like being in a graduate seminar.
