5.0 out of 5 stars ADD THIS BOOK TO YOUR JOB SEARCH LIBRARY TODAY!
As a repeat buyer who purchased both the first and second editions of Mr. Montag's book, I am a satisfied customer indeed. 2.0 out of 5 stars not up to par
The book is very badly written with lots of repetitions. The resumes presented are in the functional style that is normally used when you have something to hide. Not the favorites for executives or headhunters. The book is targeted for line managers or people with less than 10 years on the work force.

5.0 out of 5 stars ADD THIS BOOK TO YOUR JOB SEARCH LIBRARY TODAY!, May 20, 1999

This review is from: Best Resumes for $75,000 + Executive Jobs, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
As a repeat buyer who purchased both the first and second editions of Mr. Montag's book, I am a satisfied customer indeed. This new and expanded second edition is now a complete job search guide that has given me a real competitive edge--the upgraded quality of my letter/resume packages (developed in Part I) plus a multi-step job search process (detailed in Part II) have produced results. I particularly like the fact that each of the sample resume/letter packages represents a real-life client that Mr. Montag has served and helped over the past two decades. Unlike many resume books that include sample resumes written by people other than the author, each and every letter/resume package in this book was originally researched and prepared by Mr. Montag himself. Bluntly speaking, I followed the book because every recommended step in this text was personally market-tested and proven by the author himself. He backs up every word with first-hand experience. The bottom-line is that the quality of the first edition obviously led to this excellent second edition. I recommend this book without reservation. Add it to your library today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book on writing a hybrid-format executive resume, September 9, 1998
By A Customer
As a professional resume writer, I have found the style and advice in this book invaluable in writing a resume, not only for executives, but also for those who want to move up to an executive/management level in their career. A resume is often the first thing a potential partner/employer/financial-backer sees that allows them to connect to you as a person and on what you have to offer. The samples and background advice in this book are top-notch. Although, I do not recommend lifting phrases wholesale out of other people's resumes/letters, this book can help tremendously in seeing the structure and form of a well-done resume that gets results.

I bought both this book and "Rites of Passage..." at the same time. This book was so full of information and examples that I sent "Rites of Passage..." back. I didn't need it. This is an excellent resource.

4.0 out of 5 stars An informative tool that facilitates a sound resume..., January 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Best Resumes for $75,000 + Executive Jobs, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
Having been thrown into a job search after 12+ years with a major corporation, I found the need for guidance in the job search process (last I was in the market, I was seeking a position for ~$20k!). I quickly found that the job search process has changed dramatically, requiring a keen focus on accomplishments tailored to targeted companies. Realizing that my traditional resume would be ineffective in my quest, a friend suggested the book BEST RESUMES For $75,000+ EXECUTIVE JOBS, by William E. Montag. This I found to be a strategic tool in compiling a resume and preparing myself to build a successful marketing strategy. With tools in hand, I have successfully refined then presented my abilities based on the individual needs of each company I have targeted. The success has been resounding and something I thought worth posting for others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny!!!!!! Everyone Must Have This Book!!, January 7, 1999
This review is from: Best Resumes for $75,000 + Executive Jobs, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
The author has written an exceptional book on every step of the resume writing process. Whether you are a professional, or not, this is the book you need, to get the job you want! The book is loaded with high-powered details, for those that are employed or for those who have not been in the job market for some time. Montag's approach in turning yourself into the "product" is nothing short of extraordinary!! Emphasis on the "Cover Letter" of your resume left me speechless. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in moving ahead in the job force!! I most enjoyed the author's "REALITY CHECKS", which were strategically placed throughout the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!! A MUST FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS A GREAT JOB!, May 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Best Resumes for $75,000 + Executive Jobs, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
I really enjoyed reading this book, not only was it professionally written in a very pleasant, and interesting manner, it really helped me focus in on my own marketablity. A great buy for under $20 and the author really proved he cares very much about his readers. Everything you need to create your resume and start receiving job offers is contained in this book. After reading this book and reworking my resume, (Chapter 2 - Defining Your "Success Stories" And Skills was of special interest to me), I was able to land a position, I never would have gone after before. Chapter 6 has sample resumes and cover letters that also helped greatly in creating my own!! Do not hesitate to buy this book. It may wind up changing your life the same way it has changed mine. There are many great ideas that are proven to work and great ideas that will get you work!! Thank you. ;o)
