OK, just two things, First off, these episdoes are censored. I had high hopes that these box sets would be uncut, but they are not. To see what scenes were edited out, goto the alternate versions section on this series IMDB page. This does not give me alot of hope for future box sets being uncut. Sigh.

Second, these DVDs are DVD-Rs. They will not play on our DVD players. They did not play on either of my DVD players, and they are both less than one year old. Check you owners manual before ordering to make sure that your player can handle DVD-R format.

What a GREAT show but what crappy DVD's. How dare they edit the original show! Then, on top of that, I had to make my own DVD's to get them to work right on my DVD players. I wish I had the discipline to send them back because of how horrible the media was but I was so starved for a good quality recording of Rocko. For me anything was better than nothing. The media and censorship made this very close to nothing; this is why it gets a 1 star from me. (Show rates a 5 star rating)

I made the mistake of purchasing "The Best of Rocko's Modern Life Volume 1 (2 Disc set)" a few years ago from Amazon and at the time thought it was great but now I wish I would've waited and saved some money... The whole first season cost less than these 12 episodes, so save some money and buy the first season Rocko's Modern Life-Season 1



Disc-1
1.Carnival knowledge (Rocko and Heffer go to a carnival at the sewage treatment plant)
2.Sand in the navel (While at the beach, Rocko's dog spunky gets swooped up by a pelican.Now Rocko's afraid he's lost him forever)
3.A sucker for the suck-o-matic (Rocko buys a new vacuum cleaner that seems to have a mind of its own)
4.Canned (When Rocko loses his job, he tries out odd jobs before going to an interview at Conglom-o)
5.Rocko's happy sack (Heap-o-food has a 99% off sale and Spunky accidently gets wrapped up and put on sale in the meat case)
6.Flu-in-u-enza (Rocko's got the flu and needs a cure before the championship wrestling match)

Disc-2
1.Who's for dinner (Heffer learns the wolves that raised him are not his natural parents)
2.Love spanked (Rocko whens a date with Heffer while on the game show"love seat")
3.Clean lovin (Spunky falls in love with the kitchen mop)
4.Unbalanced load (Chaos at the laudromat when the grimes try ruining Rocko's lucky shirt)
5.Leap frogs (Mrs.Big head invites Rocko over in an attempt to make Ed Bighead jealous))
6.Bedfellows (Heffer's parents rent out his room so he moves in with Rocko, but quickly overstays his welcome)

I hope these dvd sets sell enough for Amazon to quickly offer my other favorites "The rugrats" "Catdog" and "The Angry beavers" season sets...

I was excited to come across this while I was searching for Tiny Toon Adventures. Up until I read the reviews to find out it wasnt a DVD but a DVD-R. I came across a review with a Wiki link and a reference to a journal entry that Joe Murray deleted off of his site stating "Prior to the official DVD releases, Murray stated that he has not heard of any plans for a DVD release and that there are several illegal DVD releases of the series sold on eBay. He commented, "But at least someone is trying to give Rocko fans what they want. Because Nickelodeon sure isn't doing it." Murray has been working with his legal team to regain the rights, so that an official DVD can be released."

I'm disappointed to see that Nickelodeon isn't planning on giving us a DVD. Hopefully that will change, soon.

URRRG! Why doesn't viacom just release the WHOLE SEASON! Dont buy this product! If Nick sees that the fans are happy without the full series, they'll never release the whole series! I've been DESPERATE for Rocko for quite a few years now, I dont know why they're releasing whole series of Doug and Hey Arnold but hold out until they release the uncut whole series(like Ren and Stimpy)!

Although the title calls this set a 'best of', it is actually all from the first season, as with volume 2. Together they have the COMPLETE FIRST SEASON!!!

Too much money for half a season for starters. Both disks played fine at first. After watching it a second time, the second dvd wouldn't play. What a let down. I'm still a fan of Rocko's, but I expect quality dvd's. Five stars for Rocko, but two stars for putting this show on DVD-R.

Just received this product in time for a Valentine's day present. We tried to play "The Best of Rocko's Modern Life" volumes 1 & 2 in our Sony BDP-S350 Blu-Ray player but the disc's copy protection prohibits the playing of the videos on our player.

The product is completely worthless to us, we're very disappointed and returning both. As a sidebar, the Sony BDP-S350 plays all our other DVDs and Blu-Rays without any problem. Don't know why this particular product won't play on Blu-Ray players.

Why is it that so many other shows get a complete season set when Rocko gets the shaft with best of DVD's? This isn't right and not at all worth the price. On iTunes you can get two episodes (30 min shows, 2 stories in each) for about $5. Comparing the values, it does not warrant the purchase, nor is Nickelodeon doing Rocko any justice. Full box sets please, because this deal isn't worth the price.

I haven't seen this DVD and I won't. I'm in complete agreement with the negative reviews. As to the reviewer who said "just buy it and maybe Nickelodeon will see a demand," I say this take-what-you-can-get fatalism will kill any hope for an official DVD release. Nick will instead see that desperate fans will settle for burn-on-demand, censored collections and never bother to put out anything better. True fans should boycott this travesty and let Nickelodeon know we want the real deal, the whole deal, and nothing but the deal. Either that or wait another twenty years until Joe Murray can secure the rights and release his own DVD.
