The book is a compilation of articles written for SAIL magazine. The editors took the best articles and made them available in this book. Each chapter deals with a different subject, e.g., mail sail and head sail trimming, tactics etc. The authors are names that you will recognize.

This the best of the books I have read for the person who wants to get that last little bit of speed from their boat. It is a must read for the person getting into racing.

Love it so much that my sailing buddies got this for Christmas from me.

owned and used ocasionally for thirty years specifically for racing ,some of the hardware articles dont pertain to newer boats but you cant buy speed cheaper than this,the writers,which are many are all expert sail makers or nationally known sailors,i highlighted the best paragraphs a gem!

This book is an outstanding book. Event though some articles are no more applicable I consider that 90% of the book is interesting. I read some outstanding books on sail trimmings like "High performance sailing", "winning in one design" or dedekar's book, I consider this one as one of the top. In other books, sail trimming tips are given in a wordy way. In that all trimming is explains simply and you get the reasons to do it.

I would like that the writers think about updating the book today articles.
