StarCraft: Brood War continues the award-winning saga of galactic warfare as the Zerg, Protoss and Terrans struggle for their continued survival. With the shattered Zerg hive torn apart by fierce in-fighting, the Protoss seek to reunite with their Dark Templar brethren and begin the rebuilding of their homeworld, Aiur. Terran Emperor Mengsk I, having achieved his goal of total power over the human colonies, must now turn his attention to both the rising power of the woman he betrayed -- Kerrigan, the infamous Zerg Queen of Blades-- and a conspiracy deep within his own ranks. 5.0 out of 5 stars Best Game Period, May 18, 2005
By
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Best Seller Series: Starcraft Expansion Set -- Brood War (CD-ROM)
I have been playing this game for 5 or 6 years. It is the best game period. It is somewhat difficult but not impossible to complete. Plenty of levels and missions. Good controls, great graphics for it's time and still stands up well to this day, great sound, good music, great storyline. There is a campaign editor, so after you have finished playing the regular game you can create your own game or play some of the custom games that are already provided. I keep waiting and hoping that Blizzard is going to do a quality sequel to this game and right now I am very disappointed that I have not heard anything to indicate that they are. One more thing, although system requirements does not state it, it will work on Windows XP, it has on mine anyway, without using the compatibility mode I might add. This is a great game do yourself a favor go out and buy it, now!

5.0 out of 5 stars The game that shook the world., August 7, 2004

Lucky Strike "Joan" (Manila, Philippines) - See all my reviews
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Best Seller Series: Starcraft Expansion Set -- Brood War (CD-ROM)
I've been playing this game since 1999. My cousin introduced it to me first and I'm glad he did. When my sister went to the US, she bought Starcraft Battlechest for me as a present. It includes the Original Starcraft and the Broodwars expansion plus two strstegy guides from Prima.

This is the best game to hit planet Earth. I've been playing this game recently with my friends and cousins. I'm glad that we are able to play again after a hiatus of more than two years. Starcraft gives an incredible feeling, a rush. It's like my therapy or temporary escape from reality. I only play this once a week (Saturdays) and it is my highlight of the week. I use the Protoss. I didn't have the chemistry with the other races.

This game is highly recommended. You really have to use your head to come up with strategies to defeat your opponents. There are three races to choose from: Terran, Protoss and Zerg. Put your skills to the test by engaging a battle with your friends or you can go to Battlenet. If you want long hours of fun and challenge, go buy this game NOW before the stocks run out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best game ever!, June 11, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Best Seller Series: Starcraft Expansion Set -- Brood War (CD-ROM)
This is still the best game that has ever been made. I hav Brood war and Warcraft 3, but Brood War is a far superior game. People often say... "but Warcraft 3 has much better graphics." People have forgotten that games are about gameplay, not graphics.
WARNING: This game is addictive. I bought Starcraft right when it came out, and still play this game. The one problem is I will soon need to buy another copy because the label is starting to get a little scrached off and my computer is having a little trouble reading it.
