After watching Hoosiers on DVD a while ago, I was wondering if a copy of the soundtrack was available. Lo and behold, here it is! I think the Soundtrack to Hoosiers is one of the best, if not the best, that Jerry Goldsmith has ever done. All of the tracks are excellent, particularly the first and last. The way he repeats the same musical theme in all the tracks, yet keep them all interesting, is pure genius.

If there's one word to describe the Hoosiers soundtrack, it's this: uplifting. This music uplifts one as much as the movie does, and can be listened to over and over again. 5 out of 5. By the way, this soundtrack is now available on iTunes for $9.99.

It's no secret that Jerry Goldsmith's prodigious output in the 1980's was marred by slightly below par performances by the HSO Orchestra.
However, Best Shot is one example where the sheer quality of the composition shines through despite lackluster playing. This is Goldsmith at his best - memorable and spirited thematic material that never fails to capture the imagination. Bravo Jerry!!!

A great CD to listen to in the car - extremely upbeat!

The music from this movie is easily as inspirational as the movie itself. We love the way it makes one feel alive and ready to go. It is great music, and Amazon gave us great service--two weeks early on delivery from the U.K.

Great music, and after seeing the movie "Hoosiers" I can conjure up in my mind the scene in the movie pertaining to the music. I am not a basketball fan at all, (being a fellow Hoosier that is hard to believe) but I did like the movie and kept promising to get myself the musical score and now that I have it I play it in my car and anyone else who rides with me instantly says " That's from Hoosiers".
You won't be disappointed in this CD, and I play it in my car to kind of lift up my spirits on these cold, dreary fall days.

HOOSIRES is one of Jerry Goldsmith's best scores. I really like it. Outstanding and rousing it is, but why is this so hard to find?
