Although it is skewed toward their first two albums, "Best In Show" is an excellent career overview. It has all of the hits, and key album tracks.

World Party has one of the best catalogs out there, each release chock full of great 60's influenced songs. This is a good overview, but you will miss some outstanding tracks not included here. You will also miss the breadth and range of Karl Wallinger's influences and execution. If you are new to World Party, I would rather see you buy one of his great CD's Goodbye Jumbo, Bang, Egyptology, or Dumbing Up to get the fuller picture of this great great artist.

This disc entitled BEST IN SHOW is a great sampling of Karl's work. While it is hard to say this is a greatest hits package, because World Party has always been an artist's artist. Much Like Patti Smith is revered by many, so to is Karl.If you do not know the music, it is simply excellent artistry. wonderful songs and this is a very good sampling. Don't think it substitutes for buying his other material, because to be honest, the each album is special and is a full album. Artists like Karl are to be treasured, my real question is when can we get an all new album of material????

Great band, great songs. My first thought looking at the tracklist was that this could've been called "The best of Goodbye Jumbo...and other hits". Half that album is on here, but it is damn good. Ship Of Fools is a nice pick, as I'm only aware of it from a Greenpeace compilation. My overall favorite song is Is It Like Today?. My first taste of World Party was seeing them open for 10,000 Maniacs '93ish, and that song I remember well. A few of the tracks I didn't know here I now like also. The main guy here was in The Waterboys at one time, though nothing is too Irishy sounding here. This band sounds like The Jayhawks went pop. Good stuff.

I luv this cd!!!! It smacks of Neal young, Crosby Stills & Nash with a little Tom Petty and the Rolling Stones mixed in. I love all the tracks. Some are folky, some bluesy some funky....My fav is #6 What does it mean. Very nostalgic Neal Young style....Very Pleased...

The shows for the Private Revolution tour were among the best you could hope to see by any band. I am disappointed that this is not a live set. The selection of songs here is fine, though you'd need to get Private Revolution and Egyptology to get a real sense of the songs in the context of the "album". I don't understand at all why bands need to come out with "singles" "greatest hits" or "best of" records now that people have the means to pick & choose what songs they want. Best in Show implies that it's the best live performances. I guess we'll have to wait another five to ten years for someone to pull that together.
