Perfect Driving Music,

the albums of the "Best of Smooth Jazz" series are arguably some of the greatest smooth jazz compilations to date. I credit this particular series of albums with opening my eyes to the sheer beauty that encompasses smooth jazz. This particular album is of coure the forerunner, and daresay, the best of the immaculate series. My favorite cut off the album would have to be Bob James' "Angela" (theme from "Taxi"). This classic is worth that price of admission alone as it offers so much more then just the 30 seconds it is alloted per episode of said show. Al Jarreau's "We're In This Love Together" is a tune that many will recognize as it has been a frequent staple in most pop radio stations across the country. Pure greatness! There is so much more to say, but I am sure everyone gets the point by now. If you have been an avid love of smooth jazz for years or if you are a novice to this genre (not unlike myself), throw your inhibtions to the wind, and sail away with "Best of Smooth Jazz"

Only the best without the commercials!,

This is a collection of musical pieces that are delivered on a silver platter. I bought it for Maputo and didn't pay any attention to the rest of the bill of fare. WoW! I got my money's worth! Sanborn, Franks, Benson to start....

Solid collection of late night jazz.,

A great blend of some well recognized performances by a variety of smooth jazz artists. Some of the best cuts are athe full version of the theme from Taxie by Bob James and Midnight in San Juan by Earl Klugh. The mix of performersa makes the CD sound more like a late night jazz radio program (without the commercial interuptions) than a single CD. Good length CD as well... with 13 cuts.

The Album Doesn't Disappoint,

I have been a Smooth Jazz fan for about two or three years, and this record really is amazing. I wasn't sure if I was really going to enjoy it, Maputo and Hippies on a Corner are not my favorite songs, but from track three on it's great. With names like Al Jarreau and Boney James on this album, it can only be good.I'm happy that Angela was added to this album. To me, Angela is the definition of what Smooth Jazz is all about. It is so peaceful and beautiful; it paints a picture in your head. New or old fans alike will enjoy this record. I can't wait to hear the other volumes!

Lots of good quality music on this CD. The theme from Taxi as well as other old classics are found here. Listening to the samples on Amazon sold me! I fondly remembered each one from a time long gone but never forgotten. We had a station in New York that played smooth jazz selections all day and night. This album brings all the songs back to mind and then some. I have played new grooves into the CD and even my kids like it for both relaxing and just good listening. Love this cd to the max!

If you like to kick back and get in a relaxed mood, you'll like this CD. Even though I hadn't heard of most of the artists, a taste of the samples on the Amazon site convinced me. Two familiar tracks are Al Jarreau, "Were in this love together", and "Angela", the theme from Taxi, by Bob James. I suggest you listen to the samples on the Product page. Different people have their own likes and dislikes on what constitutes smooth jazz, or easy listening jazz. Most of the tracks have a somewhat upbeat tempo, thus this is not what you would call "romantic" type music. Nevertheless, it's a nice album with which to relax.
