Hoosiers:For me it doesn't get any better than this. Watch it without interuption, all the way to the end, you won't be disapointed. Yes it takes time getting going, but you will be well rewarded in the end. Truly uplifting. You won't ever see a movie like this again since Hollywood seems convinced that the public wants to see a basketball game instead of a movie. They swear we want to see the spectacular dunks and the great ally oops. I think we can see that on the tv when an actual basketball game is on !!

Henry-Clyde says:
Full agreement here on every respect. The script is amazing, Gene Hackman's performance is incredible, and there are great stars filling out the rest of the generous cast. Stars like Dennis Hopper in an Oscar-winning role, the beautiful Barbara Hershey, and the always spectacular Sheb Wooley. A wonderful score by Jerry Goldsmith that deserves more praise than anyone existing can give, and, of course, well done cinematography that makes practical use of realistic basketball action. The cinematography is still today some of the best in the business, with shots that flow yet are unexpected, making good use of slow-motion shots.

Hopper was nominated for an Oscar for Shooter but did not win it
