Editorial Reviews

This collector's DVD features the five highest-rated episodes of "The Steve Harvey Show," starring Steve Harvey (The Original Kings of Comedy, TV's "It's Showtime at the Apollo") and "Cedric The Entertainer" (Barbershop, TV's "Cedric The Entertainer Presents"). Harvey steals the show as Steve Hightower, former '70s R&B star who lands a music-teacher gig at a tough urban high school with the help of coach Cedric Robinson (Cedric). Named Vice Principal, Steve woos Principal Regina Grier (Wendy Raquel Robinson, Two Can Play That Game) and clashes with his secretary Lovita Jenkins (Terri Vaughn, Friday). Showing who's in charge with his unorthodox approach, Steve discovers a new groove. Packed with hysterical high jinks, THE BEST OF THE STEVE HARVEY SHOW replays all your favorite moments from this award-winning hit series, showing why Steve and Cedric are two of today's hottest comedians.

The Steve Harvey Show is one of the best shows out there. Steve Harevy And Cedric "The Entertainer" are great comedians. The whole cast rules. This show is halarious and full of non-stop laughter. This dvd captures the best moments of the show and has 5 of the best episodes ever created with Guest Stars such as Shar Jackson (Moesha), Robin Yvette Allen/The Lady Of Rage (Rapper: "Afro Puffs" featured on the soundtrack "Above The Rim" and on "Death Row Records Greatest hits"), Kellita Smith (Bernie Mac Show). My favorite part of this show was when Lori Beth Denberg (from Nickelodeon's "All That") joined the cast. She was the perfect addition. This dvd should have had more than 5 episodes and should also have had more episodes with Lori Beth Denberg and The Lady Of Rage. One thing I was dissappointed in was that there was no tribute to cast member Merlin Santana (who played Romeo Santana). He was shot while sitting in a car and was pronounced DOA. RIP MERLIN SANTANA

4.0 out of 5 stars Too Few Harvey to Enjoy April 20, 2006
I enjoyed the Steve Harvey show, It was witty and fun. When I bought Volume one of the best of the show, I felt cheated. I would have enjoyed a full box set of season one and all I got were five episodes....and none were the pilot of this show. Th shows were Harvey, just not at his best. However five episodes of Steve is better than nothing

3.0 out of 5 stars I deserve more April 1, 2006
I have no idea why it is taking the DVD gods so long to create, "The Steve Harvey Show Season One" on DVD. What is up with that? You just can't go around creating a five-episode DVD, when there are so many other good episodes all willy-nilly. I have emailed Mr. Harvey about this, but naturally, I did not get a return response. Like the many other loyal fans of the show, I will keep watching this DVD and its' same five episodes, because they are just that good. Peace!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars STILL NO SERIES DVD? WHY??? September 16, 2008
Can someone point me where to lodge a complaint about this woefully-incomplete DVD? This show was literally the flagship for the WB network during its entire run.

Can you tell me why in the hell less-popular, lower-rated WB shows like "Wayans Brothers", "Jamie Foxx", and "Sister Sister" get full treatment?

With the seemingly endless stream of obscure 50s and 60s TV shows getting DVD treatment, how a show like this cannot get a full series DVD is simply baffling. Sony's gonna force me to DVR the series off of syndication and do what should be done myself!

3.0 out of 5 stars Too short... May 10, 2007
Even though they were funny, I definitely think I deserve more. Only 5 episodes...that ain't right! They should have had MORE. What were they thinking?

3.0 out of 5 stars Review for Best of the Steve Harvey Show, Vol. 1 March 8, 2007
Although the episodes were funny, the DVD itself was too short. There weren't enough episodes in this volume. It makes me kind of feel like I overpaid.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of the Steve Harvey Show, Vol. 1 November 11, 2013

I loved the Steve Harvey Show. I was so excited to get this DVD and do not understand why all of the seasons were not produced. It doesn't make sense! All of "The Jeffersons" and all of "Martin" as well as the family that lived in the projects, with "JJ" as the lead character were put on DVD. Why couldn't "The Steve Harvey Show" and "Room 227," and "Living Single" as well as "All of Us" be put on DVD? I'm talking about EVERY SEASON, not just one (or none as in the case of "All of Us") - NOT FAIR!!!!!

Steve Harvey Seasons need to be released elsewhere!
I agree. Many of us are waiting for at least Season2 of Living Single. Don't minsunderstand, i am fan of good television no matter if it's King of Queens or Steve Harvey. However, it is interesting that there were so many of King of Queens available when I began purchasing it. As Arsenio from his... Read More
