I got this CD on ebay MUCH cheaper than these sellers are asking on amazon (25.00 vs 100.00+) Its a great CD and the sound is definately superior to the American Wooden Nickel releases. The only problem is, it is a compilation of only three of the four Wooden Nickel albums Styx recorded. As a result, Styx I is not represented on this collection at all. The biggest loss as a result is the absence of "Best Thing", which was, peaking at number 82, their first Hot 100 hit. This song should have been included on the CD, even if no others from the first LP were. Otherwise, this is a great CD with great sound quality.

When Wooden Nickel Released THE BEST OF STYX they really didn't give the band justice. Now that Styx has released a new version of THE BEST OF STYX. This time around though it really is. It has their best Wooden Nickel Songs. like "Lady", "22 years", "Jonas Psalter", "Southern Woman", "A Song For Suzanne", and many many more. This is the CD every die hard Styx fan should have.

If you really want to hear the Wooden Nickel gems at their best, try these Japanese imports. Contains FULL lyrics, digital remastering (much better than the US versions) and better color on the covers. It is worth the extra money for the sound quality! Plus, BEST OF gets a cover over-haul. Wish they would show the cover here, it is a nice version of the classic WN STYX logo.
