3.0 out of 5 stars Good but limited, August 13, 2010
This review is from: The Best in Tent Camping: Montana: A Guide for Car Campers Who Hate RVs, Concrete Slabs, and Loud Portable Stereos (Best Tent Camping) (Paperback)
I thought this book had some good suggestions. I just camped at half moon in the crazies and it was beautiful. However, there are SOOO many more good spots! In MT you can just drive and find a place. It's awesome for the tent camper. I would suggest differentiating bear in bear country; black bears are one thing- griz are another.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buy a Map instead of this book., April 6, 2009
This review is from: The Best in Tent Camping: Montana: A Guide for Car Campers Who Hate RVs, Concrete Slabs, and Loud Portable Stereos (Best Tent Camping) (Paperback)
I live in Southwest Montana and this book only has 10% of the campgrounds in Montana and the most crowded. Example, Philipsburg Bay Campground at Georgetown Mt. The map shows ( 64 ) camp sites. Can you Imagine how many people, dogs, motorcycles and who knows what else is in that campground at one time. Buy a Montana road Map instead. It shows most of the better campgrounds for alot less Money. When I pick a camp site it doesn't need to come with a table, fire ring. I just need a flat spot in the trees along a nice stream and know other people. Mel.

2.0 out of 5 stars okay but inaccurate, February 8, 2009
This review is from: The Best in Tent Camping: Montana: A Guide for Car Campers Who Hate RVs, Concrete Slabs, and Loud Portable Stereos (Best Tent Camping) (Paperback)
I have enjoyed many of the campsites this book has led me to but the directions are not accurate for several of the sites. Only once were the directions so bad I couldn't find the campground, but you typically have to really search, the printed directions won't lead you right there.
