A good collection of her work,

I must say that this particular collection seems tailor-made for me personally, as it omits one of her hits that I don't particularly like ("Sweet Old-Fashioned Girl"), while including the ones I like best. It is entirely based on her recordings for Coral Records, so instead of having the original 1949 version of her first hit, "Music! Music! Music!" it has a remake which she did on Coral in 1953, which I personally like better. It also includes "A Tear Fell," which I think is the most melodious song Teresa ever recorded, and some other big hits ("Jilted" and "Ricochet" being the biggest). It also includes some samples of her pop covers of R&B hits like "You Send Me" and "Pledging My Love," which I like better than the Sam Cooke and Johnny Ace originals. (But then, I generally like pop covers of R&B songs better than the originals!) Probably, if you want only one Teresa Brewer collection, this is the one to get.

Not Bad For An Early CD Release,

Among the many Teresa Brewer CDs available, this early MCA release isn't a bad choice. Yes, like most of those CDs back at the dawning of the era, it only contains 10 tracks, but very much UNLIKE most of the others, this has 2 pages of liner notes written by noted jazz critic Leonard Feather (who passed away in 1994).The AAD sound quality is also very good, and although 9 of the 10 hits included can also be found on the Varese Sarabande release Music! Music! Music! - The Best Of Teresa Brewer (along with 9 more and for not that much more), you do get here the hard-to-find I Gotta Go Get My Baby. Written by Marvin Rainwater, it was a # 19 on the Billboard Honor Roll Of Hits charts in February 1955.
