This book is a must read for anyone who dabbles in Ebay. The book is highly entertaining and extremely informative. I've been a seller on Ebay for four years, and picked up a lot of helpful tips from this book. Lynne tells it the way it is, and she's not afraid to say when she's made mistakes on Ebay (haven't we all?). I've read her book cover to cover three times, and can't wait for the next installment.

I thought this book was interesting, but I wish there was more useable information and less talk about Grandma. I understand that Grandma played an important part but I was looking for more. I hope in future books the author could talk more about how she aquired items (not inherited) and how they did at auction. This author has great style and I stilled learned a lot from reading this.

The 100 Best Things I've Sold on eBay is a fascinating case study of 100 of the author's auction experiences on eBay as she successfully transitioned her grandmother's antique business from a storefront in Bellingham, Washington, to the online marketplace. Lynn Dralle, The Queen of Auctions, tells her story, and her grandmother's, as she recounts each auction. She give a brief history of each item, how she came to acquire it, how she priced and listed the item on eBay, how it sold, and for how much, along with pictures.

This book is presented in such a unique format, with great pictures and design, story and heart--it's very easy and enjoyable to read. It is much more than a catalog-ish 100 Best, because Lynn Dralle is one heck of a writer and storyteller, and crafted this book into a wonderful story of family, history, relationships, travel, and ultimately, a single mother, taking up her legacy, following her passion, and building a business to support herself and her children.

100 Best Things is a great book to learn how to eBay. It is also an inspiring story for entrepreneurial women, a primer of hope for those who may be searching for a way to build a career and a business around life and responsibilities with children.

There are so many books out on eBay these days.. And a lot of them are pretty dry and pedantic.

Not this one. It combines humor, spice, nostalgia, entertainment, and some tugs at the heart strings with insight, practical tips, and tested collector strategies. I really enjoyed it and learned quite a bit in the process.

One of the most fun things about being an eBay seller for me is that every transaction has a story. Some stories are a lot more interesting than others, of course, but they are all part of the eBay phenomenon of people all over the world trading treasures.

I have my own collection of "eBay stories" that entertain my curious friends and family. Some people are ecstatic to have found something they have been searching for and want to share their excitement with me. I get touching emails about finding a long-lost childhood game or the final piece of a treasured collection.

I enjoy the excitement of watching the last-minute bidding frenzy on my auctions and marvel at the faraway places that become new homes for my excess stuff around the house. Even having to deal with difficult people and resolving disputes makes for interesting stories.

Lynn has done a wonderful job of capturing this fascinating side of the online auction business by sharing her stories; not only of the transactions themselves but of the history of the pieces she sells and memories of her grandmother who introduced her to the antiques & collectibles business. Those of us who sell on eBay will enjoy the familiar experiences and those who don't will get a better idea of why we find "eBaying" so much fun!

I couldn't put this book down! Not the dry how-to book you might expect, "The 100 Best Things I've Sold on eBay" is a sort of one-person "Antiques Roadshow" with a personal-memoir flavor. Each chapter describes one item, its history, how the author ended up with it (which often involves the author's grandmother, an antiques dealer), and usually a few details about the auction and the buyer. It's all presented in a creative format with lots of pictures. The book's informal, personal tone make for a fun and easy read, but "The 100 Best Things" also packs in a lot of interesting facts about a wide spectrum of antiques and collectibles. Those readers who play the eBay game can also pick up some useful insights into how online auctions work. You don't have to be a eBayer or a collector to enjoy this book--I've loaned it to several friends and it's been a hit with everyone.

This book is great for those who have little, if any experience in the resale of anything that is old, obsolete, inherited, nor in the basic understanding of the potential value of resale items from all walks of life. This is not a guide of any kind or reference for those seeking to transition from in person buying & selling to online sales. There are good reference books for that.

On the other hand, it does give dozens of excellent examples of how every item - no matter how seemingly insignificant, needs to be treated as potential value until investigated and evaluated to some degree. One should never assume that something is of no value to anyone.
