This CD is worth it just for Maura O'Connell's version of "The Water Is Wide". It makes my heart stop evertime I hear it. The other songs are also wonderful - complex and soothing.

Compilation of the best Celt,

Celtic music is a tradition that is just now beginning to sweep America, and a passion shared by millions. Obviously it would be impossible to include all of Celt's greatest songs on one compact disc, but if it had to be done, Thistle and Shamrock is it. This disc has everything from suspensful bagpipe concertos, to soothing fiddles and the sounds of "suil a ruin." I recommend this collection to ANYONE who appreciates Celtic music for the elite art that it is. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me.

Great Celtic music.."All together" and "Westin Wind" stir the soul....bagpipes, flutes, great singing....this CD will transport you to the misty Isles....

Excellent CD collection. I liked listening to it on NPR Public Radio so I wanted to have this music available anytime and purchased the CD. I enjoyed it and would purchase it again.

IF you like Celtic music, you'll enjoy this. It's not spectacular, but it's definitely soothing and well-done. The Thistle & Shamrock is an excellent radio show, and this is a good collection of songs that have been featured on it.
