Once upon a time, Country Music actually had songwriters that could sing as well as they could write; and Tom T. Hall was at the top of that list. This offering by "20th Century Masters" is superb and one of the most complete collections I've heard. From the rowdy "I like Beer" to the contemplative "Watermelon Wine" this album will bring back many memories. Of course, there are the comical (if nor hilarious) numbers: "Ballad of Forty Dollars" and "A Week in a County Jail". All in all, a very good compilation.

This is a great album for Tom T. Hall fans. Has his best songs on it. I have played it over and over for the messages and the music. I highly recommend it.
