4.0 out of 5 stars Only two episodes of the show (50 minutes)
Love Rudy Maxa's shows. Previous disks I had bought had four episodes. Price is steep for only 2 episodes. They are beautiful though.

2.0 out of 5 stars I was disappointed
I bought this Blu-Ray and I was expecting a show that actually took a look at what makes Beautiful Japan. Sure the locations are pretty and beautiful but without any cultural insight it is lost on viewers. Some effort to provide genuine cultural insight would have been appreciated. I bought this Blu-Ray and I was expecting a show that actually took a look at what makes Beautiful Japan. Sure the locations are pretty and beautiful but without any cultural insight it is lost on viewers. Some effort to provide genuine cultural insight would have been appreciated. He shows you a traditional Japanese inn but instead of following the tradition of donning a yukata (Japanese summer kimono) he just plops down and eats. Japan is not a place where you go and just look around. You need to immerse yourself and leave behind your Western culture. I was disappointed at what appears to be a lack of interest on Mr. Maxa's part where it seems like he is there because he is forced to. For a true look at beautiful Japan where the gem that is this truly unique culture is genuinely displayed, try Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations (Season 4 Episode 16). One hour of what a travel series should be like.
