Published in 1986, the twenty-year anniversary of the debut of Star Trek, this collection of material from Trek magazine covers all manifestations of the phenomenon. Coverage includes the original series, the animated series, the first three feature films and a significant amount of the books, including novels. Everything from fan surveys to speculation on social structure of the worlds of Star Trek is included.Some of the articles are: *) Vulcan As a Meritocracy - this continues the speculative thread as to whether the social structure of Vulcan is patriarchal, matriarchal or something in between. *) One More Time: Time Travel in Star Trek - an examination of the role time travel has played as a plot device in Star Trek. *) The Star Trek Films: Variations and Vexations - scene-by-scene description of differences between the three Star Trek films, most often additions, when they appeared in the theater as opposed to on television. *) The Neglected Whole - or "Never Heard of You" - in this article detailed descriptions of the lives of minor female characters in the series is given.
