Biography

UB40 have spent the last few years doing what many bands in such an exalted position would do. Having sold 50 million albums and become global superstars, they have spread their wings and diversified.
They have collaborated with Jamaica's dancehall legends and worked with the fathers of reggae. In 2003, they even recorded Swing Low, the anthem for the England rugby team's triumphant World Cup… Read more in Amazon's UB 40 Store

well...im only 15 years old & i've been into reggae my whole life...i've been into UB40 my WHOLE life,too...actually that's how i got into reggae...my dad was and still is a big UB40 fan.(THANX DAD)he used to play their songs 24/7...im serious! he used to sing me to sleep with UB40 songs...he lives in seattle and i live in hawaii.i never seen him since he moved to seattle with his new wife...i miss him...alot.but i feel that their music keeps us in touch some how...so i think that this cd should be bought because all of their songs have a very special message in them.i think who ever buys this cd will definently enjoy it...you wont regret it.

I have always been a great fan of ub40, their music makes you feel human and euphoric!! so what they're british, they met in a jobcentre, they've stuck together and they've proven that being unemployed is not the end of the road.Their cup is full and overflowing ! they are on higher grounds, and I love em with all my heart. Keep up the good work guys

3.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff, but too few tracks, July 1, 2000
This review is from: Best of Ub40 2 (Audio CD)
The only disappointing thing about this CD is that it has four less tracks than the "[import]" version also available from Amazon.com. Otherwise, this album has the most popular tracks of the band of recent times with "Kingston Town" being the central track. The tracks are fun, rhythmic, and light. Get it.

If you're new to UB40, expect 80's and 90's reggae-like pop. In other words, it's reggae that has been "adjusted" towards the tastes of those of us who enjoy pop, and perhaps hold no particular interest in "true" reggae. This is a good place to begin, but also check out "Volume One".
