Makes me love vampires again,
By Paul V. (Denver, CO, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Best New Vampire Tales (Vol 1) (Paperback)
I wasn't sure that I liked vampires until I read this book and that's when I remembered that vampires are not meant to be cute and fun and sexy, they are supposed to be mean, ugly and dangerous. This book reminded me that not all vampires sparkle. Nothing sparkles in this book. Everything bites.

A good collection,
By David Nash (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Best New Vampire Tales (Vol 1) (Paperback)
I enjoyed these stories a lot. All of the stories are well written and different from each other. Some are very serious, while others are fun. Some made me smile while others made me nervous. looking forward to volume 2.

Tired of Vampires? You Won't Be After This!,
By John F.D. Taff "John" (Eureka, MO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Best New Vampire Tales (Vol.1) (Kindle Edition)
OK, in the spirit of full disclosure, I have a story in this volume ("Cold Calls,) but I'd give this collection the same review even if I weren't in it. Tired of sparkly vampires? Pick up a copy of this collection and rediscover what has made vampires the No. 1 nightmare creature for more than 100 years now. Believe me, David Niall Wilson's "A Candle Lit in Sunlight" is alone worth the price of admission. Great collection, attractively priced, highly recommended. Enjoy!
