The best "sonic adventures" from a unique band, November 30, 2004
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
A travel across different dimensions full of chaos, cyber apocalypse, nuclear holocausts , "killing technology", experimental diversity , outerspace, universal questions, altern universes and all the complexity that offers the whole universe of everything, every track explores a different topic, theorys , statements, facts , possible facts, fictional situations, many people would think that this is a train of ideas and thoughts very complicated to follow , many other would find this very interesting and appealing and even enjoyable some other would consider this bands work, the fact is that from the point of view youd like to see this progresive metal band you cant ignore them , music is progresive , heavy, variated in sound atmospheres and fascinating in lyrics subjets, a plus is definitelly "Astronomy domine" a Pink Floyd cover that Voivod recreated in an awesome version, is amazing HM

Good "Best Of" CD, April 21, 2002
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
Voivod are one of my favorite bands, and this is a good representation of the bands' material up to and including the "Angel Rat" CD. Voivod have created a wide variety of music, from the early thrash of "Voivod" to the progressive rock of "Panorama". The reason that I give this CD four stars instead of five is the inclusion of "Ripping Headaches" and "Korgull the Exterminator" from the dreadful "RRROOOAAARRR" CD, which was a poorly written and poorly produced attempt to imitate Slayer, and "Cockroaches", a not-so-great song that was originally available only as a bonus track on the otherwise excellent "Killing Technology" CD. Voivod have recorded much better songs than these three clunkers.
