A real "Gem" of a collection:-),
By A Customer
This review is from: The Best of Voyage (Audio CD)
I just received this cd, and I must say, this has to be the most "well-put-together" cd collection voyage has ever did. "the two remixes of "FROM EAST TO WEST" is "absolutely downright fantastic" it's actually, almost as better as the original version. (A must have), "collection", I assure you :-) plus, they have added, the "full extended songs" of there most greatest hits. A real sure pleaser to have in your collection. I highly recommend it...........

Souvenirs is the best!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Best of Voyage (Audio CD)
Just listening to "Souvenirs" reminds me why i like disco. Very good song because it's well-constructed. Voyage is an underrated group since it did not make much of impact outside of the discotheques. However, it's a great collection and i don't see anything better than this.

I know of no better examples of Eurodisco than the studio ensemble known as Voyage.
"From East to West" is my absolute favorite suite of music they produced. "Souvenirs" is excellent, as well, catchier, and not as clever as "East to West." Voyage DID cleverly introduce world music elements [before that term was coined] into their music, a nod to the ensemble's name, and a nice effort to encourage unity between cultures via music. I want to especially thank the reviewer from July 2002 for commenting on the selection timings, as I hate to get gypped by short versions. Edits are absolutely criminal for classic 70's dance music, and I will not rate a review of this music as helpful if there is not a comment on the timings. Nor will I purchase a 70's dance collection that features mostly edits or single versions.
